The Suns are now discussing trade possibilities for restricted free agent Eric Bledsoe, according to Jude LaCava of FOX Phoenix.

I am curious how much Bledsoe wants? I would trade Rondo to Phoenix or as part of a three team trade with Indiana if we could get back Bledsoe signed to a non ridiculous contract.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Hmm, interesting.

Connecting the dots between the fake Rondo trade rumors (lol) and now this, I wonder if DA would first consider a Rondo to Sactown deal and then go after Bledsoe in a sign and trade.

I wouldn't think Phoenix would need Rondo as they already have Isaiah, Dragic and Ennis, right?

I'd swap Rondo for Bledsoe, but I'm sure we would need a third team as Rondo doesn't make a ton of sense for the Suns.

I think this one makes some sense for all three teams.

Boston - Bledsoe, Stauskus, Williams, Landry
Sacramento - Rondo, Green
Phoenix - McLemore, Bass, Sac 1st (earliest they can trade it)
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

There is definitely a trade to be made between the kings suns and celtics. Hope bogans could be made useful here. Would love it if we could somehow dump Wallace in the deal.

Phoenix gets Green also and maybe it makes a little sense for Phoenix.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

Rather keep Rondo.

Clearly if Phoenix is ready to move Bledsoe, he is asking for more then they think he is worth.

He didn't even stay healthy for his breakout season.

And if the Celtics are going to trade Rondo, I would hope it would be to strengthen another positions vs. another SG with PG size.  Give Smart the PG position.

Exactly.

I think it might make more sense if the Celts pulled two separate deals.

The first one being Rondo to Sactown for McLemore or Stauskas, Derrick Williams, etc

The second one being Celts dealing Jeff Green among others (to make salaries match) to Phoenix for Bledsoe.

Problem with that is Smart is an unknown and no one really knows how he would fare as the team's starting point guard.

Could be wrong about this, but I don't think the Celts drafted Smart to be the opening night starting point guard but rather a capable back-up who could also start when needed.

I don't want Bledsoe on a max contract like he's demanding, which is what trading him for and keeping him happy will require.

I would be pretty happy acquiring him to play with Smart/Bradley if we're moving on from Rondo talent wise, but the contract demands combined with the trade price make me very hesitant.

Would be surprised to see SAC give up that much in hopes in Rondo resigning..

And everything we have seen of Bledsoe as an offensive pg is not good.   He is a sg.  That's why the Suns got Thomas.  To keep Bledsoe at sg.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Will it be hard to trade him since he's asking for so much money? I'm very interested in who and/or how much will the team trading for him will pay him.

It's really a win/win for the Suns though.

Either they get him back at a contract they like, or they trade him and likely still get very good value.

Don't forget, all they gave up for him was Jared freaking Dudley. One of the most underrated heists in recent NBA moves.

And I'll admit, I haven't seen enough of Bledsoe to form an opinion.

I know he's fast, athletic and a pretty good 3 point shooter but don't know too much beyond that.

My first preference is KEEP Rondo and add a couple veterans with him (like his buddies Smith/Gay) but for whatever reason, Ainge doesn't seem to want to go that way.
