Just finished my first fantasy football draft. A team picked Seattle's defense with the 4th overall pick and completely threw me off. Is that suppose to happen?

No, they're dumb.

Well, if the plan was to throw you off, it totally worked. Did you recover?

Nope. Same guy took Bishop Sankey in the 2nd.

For a reach like that his last name must be CABOCLOOOO

Had my first of 4 pay drafts. Had 10th pick in 12 team league.  I was torn between Arian Foster and Calvin Johnson. I went with Foster and then still got Johnson in round 2. I was totally stoked.

Should've high-fived yourself. At 10, I wonder who the other marque running backs were. Question: Did you give much consideration to Montee?
only 6 RB's had been drafted (mccoy, charles, peterson, forte, lacy and lynch).  Ball actually didn't go until early in the 3rd round (#27 overall).  I know Moreno did fine last year in the Denver offense, but Moreno is a much better pass catcher and blocker than Ball, so I just don't know what to do with Ball.  He seems like the kind of guy that could be awesome or be a total dud.  Thus, I didn't consider him at all at 10 or 15.  Had Calvin been picked, I would have gone with Jimmy Graham, who I actually considered instead of Johnson anyway.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Yeah, good job. I'd be a little concerned about RB depth though. Outside of Forte, not a ton of dependable options.

Here is the 1st of my 4 pay drafts (I really need to scale this crap back, I just can't, even added one this year)

QB - Cutler
RB - Foster
RB - Bernard
WR - C. Johnson
WR - T. Smith
TE - H. Miller
Flex - R. Mathews
Def - Ravens
K - Walsh

Bench
RB - S. Jackson, Sproles, McFadden
WR - Maclin, Steve Smith, Boykin, Wheaton

It is a PPR but you also get 1 point for every 5 rushing attempts and passing TD's are only worth 4 points.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

1 pt per 5 rushing attempts? Why?

That's like rewarding minutes played.

I didn't set the scoring and wouldn't have had that, but I suppose the theory is that rewards true #1 backs who maybe get 20-25 carries a game, but don't get many balls thrown their way.  So a guy like Steven Jackson (who I have) has a bit more value because he is a workhorse, while a guy like Darren Sproles (who I have) won't have quite as much value since he won't carry the ball much at all.

Stat will also benefit the running QB's like Cam, RG3, etc. who get a number of carries.

My league does it too, and I love it.

It's much more like rewarding shot attempts than minutes played.

If you could only choose 3 keepers from this list of players, who would they be?

Really it's Lamar Miller Vs Mike Wallace, with Rogers and Marshall as obvious choices.

Standard yahoo FFL, btw.

Is there a cost associated with the keepers?

None. I'm think Wallace because of Moreno taking time from Miller.
