2014 Celticsblog Draft Interest Thread

Attempting to gauge interest in the CB Draft for this year.

For those new to the blog the CB Draft is a subjective fantasy basketball draft/league that has occurred yearly here at Celticsblog for years. The premise is that all current NBA players, including those just drafted, are made available to be drafted by acting general managers into competitive teams. GMs are assigned for as many teams as we can find GMs for and a Draft Lottery is held. Draft positions are established in a modified snake style draft and GMs can trade picks and/or players in an attempt to build the best team they can make.

The draft is two weeks long with 13 rounds, rounds 1 through 5 happening one round per day from August 25th through August 29th with the second week consisting of 2 rounds per day from Sept. 2nd through 5th(No draft Sept. 1st  Labor Day). The following week teams are required to participate in Press Conferences where they talk about their teams in a question and answer format. That Friday, voting will be held with mandatory participation for every GM. Standings will be released and playoffs held in a head to head debate style playoff format with voting taking place after each day to decide who wins the head to head matchup until a champion is crowned.

Because of the debate format and the mandatory voting, anyone interested should know this is a time consuming endeavor that will take a month of your attention and time and you will be held accountable for your behavior during the draft.

Well, whether or not enough GM's are found to make this happen, kudos to Nick for being willing to take on the responsibility.

Not to speak for Nick, but I imagine he's as burnt out with fantasy leagues as many here are.  I hope those of you who plan on participating truly appreciate what Nick is doing here.

I'll be observing, and lending advice.

I'm curious to see if you experiment with any innovations this year.  I'm partial to an "auction" to determine the rights to Lebron (and perhaps Durant), but it's your ballgame.

Kudos to nick for making this happen.  Between draft burnout, work, a young daughter, and a 9-months-pregnant wife, this is too much for me to even think about.

I think this will give you an idea of the commitment this takes. Don't be scared off though. Its a fun environment and once you do it, you will want to do some more.
