If Tyler Zeller can't handle being a starting center, I would be happy to bring Big Al back home to try to make a push into the playoffs.   He has a player option for 2015-2016 season and likely will not pick up the option.    Jefferson has turned out to be one of better scoring centers in this league. Defense is still avg, but if he has an unstoppable scoring night, he still ends up getting the best of his opponents. In the playoffs vs the heat, he was constantly double teamed and couldn't get his game going. Thats how much of a threat he has become over the years.

If the Bobcats are also in the playoff contention i doubt they will trade Jefferson, but if they are not , with the possibility of Jefferson  not picking his option, we have enough picks to obtain him.

Trade idea

To Bobcats : Multiple 1st round picks, 2nd round picks, Bass, Thornton
To Celtics: Al Jefferson

Lineup

C- Jefferson/Zeller
PF - Sullinger/KO
SF- Green/Turner/Young
SG - AB/Smart/Young
PG -Rondo/Smart/Pressey

For a Celtics poopoo platter?

Hornets have a gooood thing going with Jefferson and now Stephenson. Making the playoffs last year. Young talent around those two guys. They made a big investment to Jefferson, it paid off, then they were able to keep moving along and add Stephenson to the mix. Big ALs gonna be in Chartown for quite some time.

Only if he agrees to stay for the long run.  If the Hornets are out of playoff contention by the trade deadline and big AL does not agree to a long term extension, i can't see the Hornets keeping him.

Unless someone gets injured, Charlotte's making the playoffs. Getting Stephenson, adding Marvin Williams to replace McBob. They're going to be better than last year.

At this point, I'd peg Hibbert as a more likely target.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan

Josh was an important piece for them last year, but he's pretty replaceable. Not only did they adequately replace him, they also added an additional all-star caliber talent in Stephenson who's gonna have a massive chip on his shoulder.  They'll be a top 5 team. If they get something out of Zeller, they'll be even better. Disaster would have to strike for them tob make Big Al available. He's the biggest free agent addition of MJ's tenure.

I don't mind that lineup actually but it wouldn't happen.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Yep.  It might look like a layup line for the other teams.  Until Sullinger gives a flagrant foul.

Only if Rondo is here in 2015, DA might think about it.  But if Rondo isn't here, then there is no point of going after AJ

Bobcats see Jefferson as the future. Would love to have him but it's a tough sell.

Big al is a horcat, don't think that's going to change any time soon. he's brought a level of excitement and hope to that franchise that it hasn't seen in years.
Greg Monroe's a nice option if you want to go that route...

Quote from their owner MJ on April 17th:

“The success of this team is McRoberts – how well he can connect the dots,” Jordan said then.

That is NOT someone EASY to replace and all of you predicting around 50 wins and a top 5 seed for the Hornets might really be SURPRISED by how BIG losing McRoberts will prove to be!!!

Also, their 1st round pick, PJ Hairston might be in jail before the season ends and Vonleh shot 28.4% in summer league!!!!!!

It is simply RIDICULOUS that Big Al was All-NBA third team.  Are you serious?????????  The NBA is a JOKE.  Big Al had a very nice year offensively, but he is still one of the WORST starting center defenders in the ENTIRE league, period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  That FACT should NOT EVEN ALLOW him to get votes for All-NBA.  This shows how that sportscasters and broadcasters (the ones who voted) have really become enamored with OFFENSE and the scoring of points and NOT defense (what REALLY WINS World Titles).
