They could really use Smart now that I think of it . Would you include Smart in a trade for Hibbert ?

I really like that Celtics team with Hibbert in it. I would be interested in Ainge making a run at Hibbert. I would be happy to give up some future picks to land him.

Edit: Oooh, Marcus Smart? Ehh, liking that a lot less. Hibbert has a huge contract. I don't think I'd give up Smart for Hibbert. But it's tempting. Definitely tempting. That Celtics team with Hibbert has a really nice foundation to build off from.

  • Let's Go Celtics!
It's interesting since he's an expiring. There's a solid chance he'd be available because there's no way Indy is contending without PG. Add in the fact that they lost Lance this off-season and they're poised to take a huge step back.

It'll be interesting to see what Indy does now.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Does anyone know the insurance and cab rules? They said on tv that there is a pos that the pacers can sign someone.

I do not want to give up on Smart. We do not even know what direction the team is taking with Rondo. Hopefully everything works out.

Marcus Smart isn't going anywhere without the exception for a great superstar in return...

A player that gets invited to USA 3 times in a row is no mere coincidence... You keep a player that a organization like USA has confidently announced their deepest respect, and utmost trust in.

The last person I'd give them is Smart, then Young, and Olynyk.

Also, I don't see Bird as the type to trade players like Hibbert for nothing less than what he thinks he should get, which is expiring, picks, and great young prospects.

I'm fine with running with Zeller, Fav, and Anthony. I'd like to see what Zeller/Fav can do in rotation, and see what they lack for us to make up through trades/FA.

If the doctors rule Paul George out for the season, the Pacers get some type of exception. It is worth around the MLE.

The Houston Rockets got it one year when Yao Ming got injured. I think they used it to sign Trevor Ariza.

Edit: Disabled Player Exception. Houston did use it to sign Ariza.

Absolutely not

Another example is that the Nets got a 5.25 million dollar player exception for Brook Lopez. I don't remember if they used it, but it was something that was in works to acquire Jordan Hill, but heavy talks just transpired into nothing, and fizzled out.

+1 don't want to trade a possible star for a playoff thrash.

My thoughts exactly. Would love to see those three develop into a solid core. Hoping Young develops nba range.

What if Gerald Wallace's contract was offloaded in the deal if Marcus Smart was included?

Marcus Smart + Gerald Wallace for Roy Hibbert.

Nope. Offloading a bad contract for a player that had one of the worst historical playoff numbers in the history of the NBA, as an Allstar, and the fact that Hibbert is a very slow Center, (doesn't match up to how the game is being played now,) doesn't make any sense either. If we want to get rid of Wallace, I'm sure the 76ers would take him for a low first round pick.

Still no. Only player on the Pacers I'm trading Smart for is Paul George. We should just hold on to Wallace and let his contract expire. I don't want to give up valuable assets just to unload a contract. Hibbert is not worth it.
