San Antonio Spurs All-Star guard Tony Parker has signed a three-year contract extension worth $43.3 million, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Parker will earn $12.5 million in the 2014-15 season, and his extension will start in the 2015-16 season. He will make $13.4 million, $14.4 million and $15.4 million during the extension, a league source said.

So with that said, how do you pay Rondo? Do you think if we paid Rondo 14 - 15 mil a year, would that be fair?

If Rondo shows he is 100% healthy , I have no problem giving him a similar deal.

I concur

parker's deal is a hometown discount, something Rondo has indicated he is not interested in giving.

I also agree, I am more than happy to give him something like 14-15 mil...I still feel if he put up 2012 Rondo playoff numbers in the regular season, he deserves the same range as CP3, but my ideal salary for him is 14-15 mil cuz it gives us more wiggle room to sign other players...

I really hope he will agree to this salary next season though

Wow, Parker is already 32 years old. He'll be 36 on the final year of that deal. So, $15.4 million for a 36 year old PG whose game is dependent on explosive quickness.

It does, however, all but ensure that he retires in San Antonio.

I think that would be a cut-price deal for Rondo and that Rondo would be deliberating taking less money than he can get elsewhere in order to help Ainge and the team. I expect Rondo to get $18-20 million a year as starting salary.

Ainge can offer a 5th year on the contract though so maybe he can offer that extra year and spread it out a bit. Give Rondo similar long term security while allowing him to stay in Boston and keeping extra cap flexibility for FAs in 2015 or 2016.

Source please?  Rondo doesn't talk all that much about his contract.

I heard the opposite. I am sure that his agent will ask for the max but will be open to other options. Each summer a slightly different market is set for new contracts.

I don't buy it. I need proof.  Most of us saw when he said something like he already gets paid star money but I haven't seen any comments that said he wasn't willing to take less than max or that he wants a substantial raise. I see a lot of people speculating that he is going for big bucks but not one quote from Rondo or any of his people saying it. We haven't heard a whisper from Woj or anyone credible about it either way.

I'm not saying he doesn't want max or a huge raise but I at least want to see where people are getting this stuff from.

Yeah, I think the MAX stuff is coming from reporters speculating that he's going for max since every one else is.

I saw that interview last fall, unless some thing has changed, I don't see him hurting the team over money. And if he does try for MAX, DA will either not sign him or ship him out.

But he did turn down the extension from the C's, which would've paid him similar money to Parker. So if by some miracle he doesn't want max money, he's going to come awfully close.

In other words, they have Duncan, Ginobili, and Parker all under market value.  What's next?  Leonard for Bradley money?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale
