Looking at the bulk of our rotation:

Paul Pierce   - Bad ass
Ray Allen - Cold blooded
Kevin Garnett - Maniac
Rajon Rondo - Bad ass
Kendrick Perkins - Eternal Scowl
James Posey - Hard Nosed
Eddie House - Small tough guy cliche
Tony Allen - Hard Nosed

Every player on our roster that year that got over 1000 minutes, with the exception of Ray are known as being tough players with sometimes tough attitudes.

I wonder if thats why we drafted Marcus Smart.

Darn right.

Smart is an instigator, and a fiery competitor. All the cliches are true. I look forward to watching him grow as a player for the Celtics.

The Guard rotation is really nice on this team. I would take Rondo, Bradley, Smart with a dash of Thornton against any back court. I hope Stevens keeps their minutes down and their energy up.

Toughness. 2008 had mean, no BS, hardnosed players. I hope this passes on to this group. Rondo is our Leader. He'd kick Jeff Green into shape (I can imagine him saying to Jeff Green "Enough of your softy lovey dovey friend of all players  attitude, shape up or ship out")
Peavey Bass Player - relearning to play after 10 years sucks;

Greens love fest with players on other teams needs to stop .  That attitude gets you invites to every bodies party ......

But is not the right Larry Bird frame of mind for winning a title.   He has yet to learn when the whistle blow the game starts .....the other team is your enemy .

Today it would be:

Rondo - Can't Shoot
Bradley - Always hurt
Sullinger - Always hungry
Olynyk - Vanilla Soft
Green  -Vanishing Man

Yeah, that 2008 team was special.

I am not sure we'll ever see a team like that again :(

The other thing about the 2008 season was that it was such a magical ride from beginning to end.

Literally, everything that could've gone right that season did go right as the team won 66 games and won the championship.

I remember the only real shred of doubt I had that year was when Atlanta took us to 7 games in the 1st round.

Are we breaking out all the sports cliches for this one, or just some?
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Glen Davis thinks wants to know why you chose 1000 minutes to draw your badass line.

I was at that game, actually. So awesome to watch us stomp them in person.

That said, I never doubted. Our team was just TOO good - we would have repeated the next year if KG never went down without question.
