Just relegate the worst team in the D-League already, and promote the D-League champion. That's the way to avoid tanking.  ;D

I honestly think its an absolutely terrible idea that the majority of the owners would be quick to say No to.

From a fan point of view, there is nothing more boring then knowing your exact draft position for the next 30 years.

Not to mention how many problems this would cause for small market teams the year they had the number 1 pick... Think wiggins doesn't stay an extra year to avoid spending the next 6 in Milwakuee?

You may as well change that to having the NBA contract the worst team in the league.  Most franchises couldn't withstand the financial loss that going to the NBADL would entail.  As it has been mentioned in countless threads before, you can't compare NBA basketball to European soccer.  In Europe, soccer is king.  In the US, the NBA often isn't even the third biggest sport in a city.  If you make them a minor league team, even for a year, no one will show up for games.  No one will watch the games on TV, so local TV contracts (which are now a major revenue stream for teams; just ask the Lakers) will shrink significantly.
