According to Falk, Bird thinks Turner could average 17 points, six rebounds and five assists per game.

“If you would have told me you could sign a free agent that could average 17, 6, and 5 who was a wing player, I’d probably tell you you’re talking about a max player,” Falk said, via the Boston Globe. “I’m not giving you my opinion because I’m a little bit biased because of how I feel about Evan but Larry Bird is a pretty astute observer of NBA basketball, pretty tough critic, and he has said publicly that’s who he thinks Evan Turner is. He’s always been a big Evan Turner fan and it’s unfortunate the situation didn’t work out in Indiana.”

I think Bird is spot on. In the right environment, Turner could average those numbers. Let's hope Stevens can get that out of him.

Key word ..."could". As in cccoouuullddd.

Not the key word...."would".

Let's see it first.

Here is another sentence with the word "could" in it.

Larry Bird could have resigned Evan Turner, but decided not to.

Here is another sentence with the word "could" in it.

Evan Turner's agent cccoouuldd be taking things rather out of context here.

Ricky Davis was a 20-5-5 guy at one point too.  It's about efficiency and contributing to a winning product as well.

Then why Bird didn't keep him then?

Larry obviously changed his mind.

Well to be fair, I think having at least a few key players on his roster hating Turner, including his superstar Paul George, contributed to that decision.

If I bought a powerball ticket, I could win $60 million.  Sure doesn't mean I will!

Edit. Sarcasm aside, I agree with the OP. let's hope this turns out to be the case.

Hasn't Evan Turner already done 17-6-5 while with Philly?

Larry obviously changed his mind.

Well to be fair, I think having at least a few key players on his roster hating Turner, including his superstar Paul George, contributed to that decision.

But George and Evan hung out a lot off the court. I follow Paul on Instagram and at one point, there were pics of them fishing and shopping.

I know there was a fight during a practice between Evan and Lance, but I hadn't heard too much about Evan being disliked by other teammates.

Sort of right, in 2013-2014 his averages 17.9 PPG, 3.8 APG, and 6.1 RPG.

Not too far off, I think in a motion offense Evan Turner could benefit in being able to play point forward. A lot of critics said how his stats were empty, due to the win/loss ratio. But you can't really put the blame on ET, while he was ineffiecent, there wasn't much of a use of his skillset this year, and no role for ET with the Pacers.

Maybe in the D-League.

I mean he could be good, but those are All-Star 2nd team type numbers.

To put that in perspective:
2014
Klay Thompson: 18, 3, 2
Lance: 14, 7, 5
Loul Deng: 16, 6, 3
Kawhi: 16, 8, 3

That would be like a whole other level that we just picked up for the mid level.
