With everything settling down,  are we at a point of getting younger and opening the door for Smart.  Now I am not crazy about trading Rondo but I think if we stay as is Rondo will jump ship.  So I was thinking, what could be done, and only thing I can think of the is the Sac. And Det. Thing for Smith.   What if we stuck our nose in it and walked away with Maclemore and Monroe.  So figure Sac. Gets Rondo and Smith, Celtics get Monroe and Maclemore,  and then C's ans Sac. Give Det. What it needs to get this done.

I think all 3 teams can walkaway happy

Detroit won't deal BOTH Smith and Monroe...it's one or the other...But, I'd want Stauskas thrown into any deal with Sac.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

I am really surprised Ainge hasn't tried to deal for Josh Smith yet (at least he hasn't to my knowledge.)

I would think dealing Green, Bass and a 2nd rounder gets you Smith who would compliment Rondo very nicely.

Then Detroit can resign Monroe.

I know there were reports that Van Gundy was going to keep Smith, but that could also be lip service as well.

I just think Rondo, Turner and Smoove is a very good start.

Then either try to go after Larry Sanders, or wait til next summer and go after Rudy Gay and maybe Al Jefferson.

How about a 3 team trade of CLE BOS IND

Boston gets Wiggins and non guaranteed contracts
Cle gets Hibbert
Indiana gets Rondo

that would be sweet and I actually think Hibbert would be a good fit in Cle.  Maybe Bennett instead would be more realistic.

lol the Cavs are on the verge of getting Kevin Love for Wiggins. Why would they ever do this?

Hibbert for Wiggins is laughable.

I'm not sure I see him Smith would be a good fit next to Rondo?

To answer the original question, yes, I would. Trade Rondo for Monroe and Mclemore (would order Straukaus) but I would a cod that deal. There is no chance it happens, but I would do it if it came up.

I would probably even trade Rondo, Wallace and Thornton to New York for Hardaway Jr, Shumpert and Amare's expiring.

I have hope that we will be a great team over the next couple of seasons, but I'm not sure it's happening. To me it makes sense to grab some more talent, clear cap space and then move forward with a new look team. I don't think many here would support this option though.
