For Salary purposes we would need to add Kidd Ghilchrist, Biyombo or Zellar in the deal. Lets say it's Ghilchrist since we need a new SF. He has been a bust so far, does anyone think we would have to add more.

For them It would give them an awesome mix in there core

 Kemba Walker
 Lance Stevenson
 Jeff Green
 Brandon Bass
 Big Al

It would be hard to include Bass but that team is one player away from being really good.

Wouldn't add the first. Green is a good 4th option on any team. Just because he isn't a top three option people want to give him away. Bass and Green for Vonleh and fillers is a great trade for Hornets because they can be really good right now. Vonleh is a 3 year project.

already? If Jeff Green is 3rd or 4th best player on a team, and Vonleh is Chris Bosh 2.0 who is also a 3rd best player (though a star vs Green) on a championship team, why would you add a first?

maybe a second, but definitely not a first. Not to mention, the season hasn't even started yet. Right now we know Green is definitely an able scorer. Vonleh is not, are you willing to gamble?

  • Celtic's only raise championship Banners
Vonleh and Biyombo and fillers if needed for Jeff Green

Once the season starts Jeff Green will be more valuable.

Yeah, I agree.

I think Vonleh could end up being really good.

I guess I could write it 3 times but I won't..

"A source tells Bulpett that an opposing team is ready to trade for Jeff Green if the Celtics are willing to let him go."

Steve Bulpett

And since Bulpett is a beat writer for the team and Jackie McMcullen is not, I tend to believe him more...

He didn't even played an nba game & you would Green & a first for him?? Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.! Green is worth more than him. Green can be a solid 2nd/3rd scorer in any team.

I would make this trade also.  I think the potential for Vonleh to be very good is there. Plus he is only 18 and will probably get an inch or more taller.  Some times you have to take chances.  Chances are Green only brings it every other game so if he Vonleh is only half the player for a couple years it is a draw in my book. Roll the dice.

If DA wanted him he would have taken him. With all the PG's that are floating around there is a reason he took Smart over Vonleh.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I'm chuckling to myself at the responses in this thread that go along the lines of 'no way, Jeff is the 3rd or 4th best option on a contender, you can't trade him for an unknown rookie!'

Haha.

Danny Ainge says his prayers at night for a trade like this.

Unfortunately Charlotte has zero interest in a deal like this unless they're getting much more. Vonleh looks very good in summer league. He's got the potential to be Chris Bosh with better handles and driving capability. He's 18, he's still growing, and the world is at his feet.

Would you give up Noah Vonleh for Jeff Green? I don't think so.
We'd have to take back Gerald Henderson or Gary Neal, or probably both so they can take Green and Bass to make them a tougher playoff team. We'd also have to throw in two picks.

Realistic deal? Something like:

Green+Bass+2015 Clippers pick+2016 Brooklyn pick+Philly 2nd rounder pick 2015-16

for

Gerald Henderson+Gary Neal+Noah Vonleh

Even then, To think you can get Noah Vonleh for two mid first round picks is being overly- homerish. You'd probably need at least a top 10 pick +Green to get him.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I think having Turner makes dealing him more likely.   But depends on what you get back for Sleepy Jeff.

There is a reason Danny didn't draft him. No thanks.

Rather than Bosh, he might become the second coming of Josh Smith instead. His FGA% in summer league scares me, but I hope it doesn't really mean anything.

If ever, I'd like to see what he brings to the table first. Red didn't trade for Robert Parish in Day 1. The Chief have 2-3 years as pro in his belt.
