Dude, to be fair, there aren't that many in the NBA who are great at defense. Carmelo Anthony isn't great at defense, LBJ is average, so is Kobe. Even Avery Bradley isn't the best at defense, yes he is a lockdown defender but even he has been poor at times defending.

Turner is more of a scorer and we supposedly lack scoring, so it works out, and Turner can only get better with Stevens and he can get better at defense with him.

Right, but Anthony could be at least a decent defender if he ever put in the necessary effort.  He certainly has the physical tools.  I don't know what Lebron you've been watching, so I'll  leave it at that.  Kobe was a pretty good defender in his prime, although I believe many say that he is more Pippen than Jordan on that end, which is apparently some kind of knock on the guy.  I think Doc once said that Kobe was the best help defender or something since Pippen, but he never played like Jordan, or even Lebron, on defense.

Btw, that highlighted sentence is probably the most confusing one I've ever seen.  You switched sides three times ;D

Well, I was going to make an Italy reference, but I decided not to ;D

Now that's hilarious ;D  TP.
What's hilarious is the notion that someone is trying to anoint Evan Turner.

Dude.  I get it.  Evan Turner isn't a very good basketball player.

That's probably why we're not paying him much money.

He's not a bad player.  Personally, I like his skill set, but I worry about his t-rex arms in addition to his overall defensive ability.  I'm just trying to taper our collective expectations.

Thankfully ;D  I'm just trying to nip the whole Paul Pierce 2.0 thing in the bud, haha.

He is fine as an NBA player. Sucks on D, not a great shooter, but can create his own offense. Seems efficient, but I have no data to back that up.

Isn't he just an asset, though? I assumed we brought him in with the hope that he could put up solid numbers, improve his stock, and get us something in return. Not sure there is a reason to break down his game, piece by piece.

He's not efficient at all, unfortunately. He has a career true shooting percentage of 48.5% (for comparison purposes, Pierce's  career true shooting percentage is 56.9%). Even Rudy Gay probably thinks he takes too many bad shots. In his career, his teams have played better when he's not on the floor.

Evan Turner is a decent defender. You can find a few bad highlights for every player in the league if you want to.

You are apparently the first person ever to say "Evan Turner is a decent defender".

This is absolutely fantastic.

and phrasing is everything...

this search below of "evan turner is a good defender" brings up hundreds of thousands of results

You're doing it wrong.  If you put quotation marks around it, so that Google searches for the specific phrase "Evan Turner is a good defender", you get this:

If you leave out the quotations marks, you get links containing those words in any order.  The first hit is a post from Liberty Ballers titled "Evan Turner Struggling Defensively for Brett Brown's Sixers".

Oh, you mean discussing where he fits in the rotation (with a ton of people pegging him as a second- or third-string swingman) constitutes anointing? Oh boy.

There are some people who seem to think that Evan Turner must be getting signed as a replacement starter because a Jeff Green trade has to be in the works.  Of course, Green is the superior player.
