He's just making a point that we have a similar style of players, all of which have upside.  As he said Spurs-"lite".   Have some optimism.

The "styles" are so broad and ad-hoc that you can make any two rosters look similar. It's pretty pointless.

Spurs light years and beyond more like it.

Celtics are far from competing to the level of the Spurs and the roster, as currently constructed, is nowhere near as strong as the Spurs. I'm all for continuity but this team needs to shed 3-4 role players and sign 2 legit starters in order to actually compete.
Long-form is far from dead, but please refrain from paragraph-laden posts! Who wants to read that?!

I get where the OP is trying to convey.

The Spurs model is what we can copy in a lot of ways since we are not going to acquire top caliber players anywhere from today and maybe until the next 3 years. So the Celts might as well hone the skills of every player they acquire (after a thorough player evaluation is done) and follow the playbook of Stevens which could very well is Spurs-inspired.

Why would you want to be the Spurs?  We are the Celtics, the most storied franchise in NBA history.  Emulate our teams of old, not the Spurs.  I know what you're trying to say, and hope for, but we should strive to play Celtic basketball, if that makes any sense, because Celtic basketball is winning basketball.

I wish the Cs this season would emulate the Heinsohn era Celtics - run, run and run. We have the legs for it now.

lite years away from being anything like the Spurs?
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
