Turner for a crappy Philly team last year:  17.4 points, 6 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1 steal 43%/29%/83%  34.9MPG

Green for a crappy Boston team last year:  16.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.7 steals, 41%/34%/80%  34.2MPG

Neither is great.  Green is a bit bigger.  Turner is a couple years younger.  Thoughts?

Green is a better player overall. He can shoot and spread the floor, and is a great defender. Turner is a terrible defender, can't really create his own shot, has decent ball handling skills, but is a terrible finisher.

We know that if either 1 is your number 1 scorer you are a bad team.

Green is probably a better finisher, Turner the better creator and passer. Turner is a better rebounder. Green has more experience and is the more disciplined defender.

Both are inconsistent though...

Turner has the scoring instinct, Jeff is more passive.  Tough call, they both have their own positive/negatives.

IIRC Turner was part of that Philly Team that gave the Cs fits during its playoff runs?

Turner and Lavoy Allen... both of them stuck at Indy's bench...
I really like Allen after seeing Allen manhandled KG and our bigs that time

Turner is a better dribbler, passer, and rebounder (sad). Green's probably better at whatever's left.

I wouldn't call Green a great defender.  A decent one yes.

You mean sad for Jeff Green? Or sad for Turner because Jeff Green's a bad rebounder?

I believe Turner's actually more than above average at rebounding. A very good rebounder iirc.

As for "whatever's left", shooting and defense are pretty important. JG does those better.

I'm not a big Jeff Green fan at all. But given Turner's recent track record I wouldn't be so sure Turner's definitely the better player at this point (which seems to be what you're implying).

Turner's problem has been his shooting. From what I've read, he's been terrible off the ball since he can't shoot and lukewarm on the ball. Again, from what I've read, he's an inefficient volume scorer and not a great assist-man on the ball.

That said, I'm very excited for Turner. On a talent thirsty team, Turner is an interesting addition being a young, former 2nd overall pick.

Turner is younger, and smaller than Jeff Green, but has similar stats.  What's that tell you?
