Two trades to make this offseason

1- Trade with OKC

to Boston: Kendrick Perkins, Perry Jones III
to OKC: Brandon Bass, Joel Anthony

why for OKC: they get a good bench player in Bass to backup Ibaka, and help them to compete in the Wild West. Joel Anthony is almost the same player Perk is nowadays, but a lot cheaper. They give up PJ3, but get the best player in the trade in Bass.

why for Boston: get minutes for Sully&Kelly, take on another young prospect in PJ3, and get Perk (and his terrible contract) back.

2. Trade with Toronto

to Boston: Landry Fields, worst of NYK/DEN 2016 first round picks.
to Toronto: Bogans, Chris Johnson, Chris Babb

why for Toronto: get rid of Landry Fields, waive Bogans and Babb to save money/capspace and either waive or keep Chris Johnson to replace Fields at 1/6 of his salary.

why for Boston: another first round pick to use in further trades, cut some salary (with those two trades they save 1M combined), and another expiring contract to use come February.

Roster after the trades:

Rondo/Smart/Pressey
Bradley/Thornton/Young
Green/Wallace/Fields
Sully/Kelly/PJ3
Perk/Zeller/Fav

Perk+Thornton+Fields combine for 23M+ in expirings to use in trades (or simply let them expire next summer).

Then, at the February trade deadline you can use some of those expirings, some picks and some young player to try to get Marc Gasol:

Thornton+Fields+Faverani+LAC 2015 1st+Sixers 2015 1st+Bos 2016 1st+NYK 2016 1st could get you Marc Gasol off of Chris Wallace's hands. And you'd still have BKN's picks, young prospects and financial flexibility in 2015 and 2016.

Plus it won't get you Gasol.  They aren't going to trade him for that.

Marc Gasol puts this roster closer to a championship than Kevin Love.

Of course, that could be not enough to get him, but we're talking about Chris Wallace, right?

Memphis will be able to resign him next season, or maybe they won't. 3 first round picks + Philly's 1st which can become 2 early seconds , plus Fav, plus financial flexibility is not bad return if you are Memphis and you aren't sure to get him back.

Marc Gasol loves Memphis...Memphis loves Marc Gasol.

He's not going anywhere...the Celtics will have to look elsewhere for fireworks.
