Not sure how some would feel about this one but it is a rebuild embracing trade

C's trade: Rondo, Green, Sully
C's get: Waiters, Bennet, Thompson, Rubi, Barra, two first, two 2nds.

Cavs trade: Waiters, Thompson,  Bennett, first and two 2nds
Cavs get: Love

Wolves trade: Love, Rubio, Barea and a first.
Wolves get: Rondo, Green, Sully.

It works for me but unsure it is enough for Rondo, Green and Sully? What do you guys think?

Breaking it down by pieces for C's it's Rondo for Waiters, cap and two first. Green for two seconds and Bennett. Sully for Thompson. Pretty good value in last two.

Breaking it down for Cavs. They get Love and keep Wiggins.

Breaking it down for Wolves. They get Rondo and Sully for a guy they can't resign. Rondo would be okay in Minnesota so long as he gets his Max deal. Green for Rubio, Barea and a first is a great deal for Wolves.

Over a hundred views and no opinions posted. Guess this one is too close to call or far way off so every one ignored lol. I guess when I even question it it should be expected. I'd think the roster would interest the rebuild fans however. Come on rebuild fans do you like the developing roster of

Smart, Rubio, Barea
Waiters, AB, Thornton
Young, Bennett, Wallace
Thompson, Bass
Olynyk, Zeller, Fav

as well as 2 more first and 2 more second rounders to add to the stock pile?

I think the only team this works for is Cleveland and that's it.

If the Celts make this move, then they have a pretty big logjam at point guard, shooting guard and power forward.

For the Wolves, I am not sure how much it benefits them to trade Love and Rubio and get back Rondo, Sullinger and Green in exchange.

Also, just realized this deal REALLY benefits Cleveland because they get Love without giving up Wiggins.

STOP trying to help the Cavs! ;D

Lord knows they've gotten enough help over the last 3 years from the NBA

First, if Rondo didn't want to resign in SAC or Toronto, no way is he resigning in Minny.

Also if we're helping Cleveland get Love, we are getting Wiggins.

No way Minny would do that cause they know Rondo would not resign there
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I don't think Rondo resigning is an issue the issue for him has been he wants a 5 year max deal not an extension.

I was under the impression that the wolves are very high on Rubio.

Why are the Wolves giving up any picks in this deal?

ugly deal for C's.  no proven young talent coming back for 3 starters including an all-star PG.   the picks from Cleveland will be at the end of the rounds so essentially crapshoots at best.  even an optimist couldn't expect to get more than a 9-10th man in a rotation if lucky with those picks.

C's go nowhere for at least 5 years if not more depending on where their own picks end up in the draft

I don't think Minny gives up Love for Rondo.  Maybe they give up Love for Irving though (more up side, younger, and under control).

Right now it seems like if Cle wants Love, they need to trade Wiggins.

I know it seems a bit outrageous but I think you might be able to make this work if you had Rondo going to Cleve, Irving going to Minny

Boston Out   Rondo   $12,909,000
                             Thornton   $8,675,000

Boston In                Bennett   $5,563,000
                Waiters   $4,062,000
                Shabazz   $1,972,000
                            Rubio        $5,070,000

Cle Out                Bennett   $5,563,000
                Waiters   $4,062,000
                Irving   $7,071,000
                Thompson   $5,138,000
                Haywood   $2,214,000

Cle In                 Rondo   $12,909,000
                 Love   $15,719,000

Minni Out                Love   $15,719,000
                           Shabazz   $1,972,000
                           Rubio         $5,070,000

Minni In                Irving   $7,071,000
                Thompson   $5,138,000
                Haywood   $2,214,000
                            Thornton   $8,675,000

So the big question that this proposed trade poses is would Cleveland rather trade Wiggins and keep Irving to get Love or let go of Irving and kind of get back Rondo and Wiggins.

I think they just might and then this is a great trade for Minni  (I think Irving has a very high ceiling and is a good return for Love) and a good return for Boston on Rondo who is losing trade value as the clock ticks.

I know this is way too many parts to be anything close to likely but I wanted to do a variation of the original trade that had the Rondo to Cleveland concept and this is where I ended up.

So we end up with the biggest project of #1 picks in Bennett. A less athletic and worse shooting PG in Rubio and tbh I'd rather have Green than Waiters. So nah I'm not into this deal

They are getting rid of Rubio and Barea. those guys are pretty much bench only players for Green a starter.

Rubio is coming off bench Smart gets to start. Team also lands Thompson and draft picks.
