Is anybody else worried about Sullinger long term with the weight issue.  I am not worried in the near term, 2-4 years, but I am concerned once he moves into his late twenties.  Once Kevin Love is off the table, I would consider moving him now with Jeff Green for Greg Monroe.  Thoughts?

I'd do it in two shake of a lambs tail.
But what incentive does Detroit have?
Celtics fan for life.

Because if they don't trade Josh Smith, where does Monroe play?

At least with this deal, they get a starting small forward and back up PF.

I like the idea but there likely would need to be another contract going to Detroit to pay Monroe what he is going to get.

I think that is a fair deal. Can see it working with both teams. But need to include a salary filler probably Anthony.

Well if they dont want to pay Monroe they get Sullinger who is close to a double double machine in a rookie contract and Green who is the final year of his contract.. I still think its odd how Monroe's name has been quiet except for a Portland rumor.. Makes you think if there is an issue with him?

Green, Sully and Anthony for Monroe seems reasonable, but this would definitely be Plan B for Detroit.  They'd much rather deal Smith and keep Monroe.  I still think that a three-way deal that sends Smith and Rondo to Sacramento is much more likely.

I'd rather keep Sully and include KO in the trade.

If you think Monroe will be sufficient incentive for Rondo to stay, I would be very enthusiastic about trading for him and would be willing to be very aggressive by overpaying for him since we have so many assets and would essentially be able to have two allstar quality players. Unfortunately, I think the Love trade is finally dead for us and this is the next logical player to think about. The problem is that I think they want to keep him and move Josh Smith instead. Smith is not my first choice but you will definitely be able to keep Rondo here since they're best friends and if you can ever get him to play a more disciplined game, he is a terrific talent and our free agent options are becoming more and more limited.

I'd rather keep Sullinger and send a pick Detroit's way, but I've long been a proponent of a Jeff Green+ for Greg Monroe deal.
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

I like the idea, though I'll probably switch Sullinger for Olynyk.

Who plays SF for the Celtics? If we are trading Green, we need a replacement for him coming back. All we would have is Wallace left. Somebody has to guard Melo, Lebron  and any other scoring SF in the East. I think Green does a reasonably good job on that end of the court and everyone that wants him gone doesn't give him enough credit for it.

Yea..Sully is a double double machine, all right!

He places a double order of whatever he eats for lunch.

must be me but I don't see Monroe as that much better than Sully that we also need to send them a good starting SF in addition to Sully.  overpayment.  maybe Sully and Young.

OR

Send Green and sully for Smith.  makes more sense on both sides in terms of talent exchange and positional fit.  Smith can play SF for us while still able to slide to PF when needed.  Moving Smith for Sully allows Detroit to play Sully as the back up PF while keeping either Drummond or Monroe in the game.  Green becomes a much better fit as SF for them.  would want a 1st from Detroit as part of the deal.

not a fan of Smith's shot selection but he plays with more fire than Green and is a better defender and rebounder.  just as capable of having breakout scoring games as Green.

I'd do this deal.
