Principal pieces

To Kings: Rondo, Green, AB
To Celtics: Stauskus, Mclemore, Thompson, 2 1st
this is just god awful.

you propose to give up the 3 best players in this deal by far for
- a rookie SG who's D was a concern in the draft.  A player we passed on by the way in favor of Smart.
- a second year player that was horrible in his rookie year.
- a PF/C who at best would be called a 'never was'.  Thompson has never realized the potential he was expected to have
- 2 first rounders from a team that once they get these 3 players from the C's will make the playoffs in the West and thereby make those picks late in the round.

horrible, horrible trade

Aside from all that there's not much else wrong with it though.

Yeah apart from it being a terrible idea its actually pretty sound.

Hate to see Rondo go for pennies on the dollar. Maybe I over-rate him but he is our top player at the moment.

actually liked maclemore and staukas in summer league.   if the trade was rondo for those two, thompson and 2 1sts.    i think that's a deal da might consider.

but not for Green as well.

I like stauskus and think he has room to grow athletically. He has a 12% body fat which was one of the highest in the draft. When he cuts that down and gets stronger and quicker, he'll be a hell more athletic than his surprising 36 inch vertical.

oh no,  nobody else.  we all know that's a crazy deal.  ainge doesn't do a deal unless he gets a significant return.   and i think the money works.

There is no rush to trade him.

Somewhere along the way some team will cave to buying him to make a splash in the playoffs.

DA figures wait it out ..... Get as much as possible ......save your assets ...go shopping when Green , Bass and Wallace are off the books.

Could the celtics be that third team?

What they have to offer McLemore is very unappealing.   I would force it into a three way so we can get someone better than Bad Shooting Ben.  Thompson, though I would consider as a piece.

I like McClemore and stayska, not for them tho **** maybe just rondo. There's no need to add ab and green, those 3 players could've netted us Carmelo this offseason if we really wanted, or a player of that nature. Terrible trade,

Would you rather have KCP from the pistons?(plus stauskus, 1sts)

Pistons were big on mclemore but sac picked him one position earlier

Then sac can get smith

You can't trade a perennial all-star and two other starters for two unknowns and an overpaid underachiever.

(if Rondo will not sign an extension with us)

Celtics; Gay+Stauskas+2 1st. round
Kings; Rondo+Wallace

But first, they must get Josh Smith.

I am certainly not opposed to trading Rondo, but there is no way I would even consider that trade.  Now if it is Rondo for McLemore, Stauskas, Williams, and a couple of firsts (say 2016 and 2018).  I would seriously consider that.

How about this 3 team

Boston - Stauskas, McLemore, Williams, Singler, Dinwiddie, Sac 2016 1st, Sac 2018 1st, Det 2015 2nd, Det 2016 2nd
Sacramento - Rondo, Smith, Jerekbo
Detroit - Green, Thompson, Terry, Outlaw

I think that is a reasonable trade for all parties (if Boston is going full on rebuild).  Boston goes all in on the rebuild, picking up some more young players and draft picks.  Sacramento gets Rondo and Smith to pair with Cousins and Gay.  Detroit picks up Green to replace Smith saving a bunch of money in the process and getting a better roster construction and fit (Green is a much better fit with Drummond and Monroe than Smith is).
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I don't think the OP had enough of a return for Rondo, Green and Bradley.

I think this is more realistic, but still a long shot to happen.

To Detroit:
Jeff Green, Gerald Wallace, Travis Outlaw

To Sacramento:
Rajon Rondo, Josh Smith

To Boston:
Nik Stauskas, Kentavius Caldwell-Pope, Ben McLemore, Derrick Williams, Jonas Jerebko, Jason Terry

Celtics get 3 assets for Rondo and Green and get out of the final year of Wallace's contract.  Out of Stauskas, Pope and McLemore one of them is bound to be a star, if not two of them.

Pistons basically trade KC Pope for Green, the starting SF they need.  By signing Meeks it makes it easier for them to give up on Pope.  They trade Smith's 3 years for Wallace's 2 years at less money.

Kings get the two best players.  Can put any 3 and D guy at the 2 guard, he would never get the ball anyway.  They want to win now and have plenty of talent to do it.  How they all fit together is anyone's guess but Rondo could be the leader they need to it.
