Free agent forward Luol Deng has agreed to a two-year, $20 million deal with the Miami Heat, league source tells Yahoo Sports.

I don't know if it's a straight up signing or if they'll arrange a sign and trade (Cleveland would benefit from acquiring James that way as well).

So we'll see.

Seems like a pretty big bargain for Deng, but he can hit the market again next year.

PG - Norris Cole
SG - Dwyane Wade (?)
SF - Luol Deng
PF - Udonis Haslem
C - Chris Bosh

Huh, what a weird starting 5. I think this is a #4 seed at best.

Yep, seems that way.

Depending if Chandler Parsons is matched or not, I expect a HEAVY push from Dallas for Lance Stephenson.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
So Miami wont really suck after all.

I think they need a Center and bring Bosh back to PF. Granger, McBob and maybe Napier will form a good bench. Humphries wil really help this team IMO.

Wow, i cant believe im somehow rooting for Miami. I guess my distaste is with LeBron alone. Id like to see them in the Playoffs.

Of course you want them to make the playoffs, they owe next year's draft pick to Cleveland.

That aside, recall that they have Dwayne Wade... think about all the crap he pulled against Boston, etc. Now reassess your commitment to root for Miami in anything.

Pat Riley is crafty -- good job so far. He will have the Heat competitive for sure.

I like Lebron more than Wade. Screw the Heat. Hope they suck for the foreseeable future.

I think Deng did reasonably well here. $10 million a year is a good sum for a player like him.

At his age, the number of teams that want a player like him is pretty small. Not a go-to scorer. Not a main guy on a team. A supporting star player. Teams that want guys like that and are willing to pay big money for guys like that usually do not have cap space. So the market was pretty small for him.

Unwilling to take lower amount per annum for more guaranteed years, I think Deng did well here for himself. A two year $20 million gives him a good payday and good flexibility for his next contract (in 12 or 24 months time).

I feel bad for the next team that signs him to a contract.

Excellent news for Miami. I think Deng will be a really good addition for them.

Gives them more size and power on the wings. And the capacity to go small with Deng at PF alongside Bosh (C) in a running lineup if Miami so wishes. Both are very interesting options for a team with Wade and Bosh on it.

I remember Wade and him dislocating Rondo's elbow. But boy, my LeBrob dislike is "bigger than basketball".

I just want this "you leave us, we'll show you" kind of stories. I rooted for the Cavs when James left. The Nuggets with Melo, the Magic with Dwight, and when Doc bolted to the Clips.

I want the "victims" to get even on some sort. Not anyway signing a bandwagon transfer form  ;D, but i want them to stomp on LeBron. I guess im sayig id rather have the Heat than LeBron.

But yes, Wade is a scum. I would never forget that.
