I think the only deal I'd be open to is something around Jeff Green for Greg Monroe S&T.

Boston would certainly have to add more though and that's where it gets tricky. Not sure exactly how much more I'd want to add.

This is the idea I like.  Green for Monroe.  Smith moves to the 4 and green spreads the floor. This might work for them with the right fillers.  And we get a legit young big.

If the plan is to keep Rondo and if the Love deal isn't likely, then I think it makes sense to acquire Rondo's 2 buddies, Josh Smith and Rudy Gay.

Give Detroit, Wallace/Bogans/future pick for Smith and give Sacramento, Jeff Green/Brandon Bass/whatever else for Rudy Gay.

I know a lot of people don't like the idea of a Rondo/Smith/Gay trio in Boston, but if the plan is to build around Rondo, then I think this makes sense.

Besides, I am thinking Detroit would rather bring back Monroe and deal Smith rather than the other way around.

Also, I don't think this is a bad starting five at all. Also, this means we are back to the playoffs next year (IMO.)

PG-Rondo
SG-Thornton
SF-Gay
PF-Smith
C-Zeller

Unless Rondo deal is in the works...trading is over with .....

Back to sucking and tanking out for some high draft picks next year.

I say , no lLove for Celtics ....Danny thins the current roster

And

The Celtics are what they are for the first half of the upcoming season.

Probably Celtics , Lakers and Heat worst teams in league

I'd take Monroe in a heartbeat.

The deal to push on them is Rondo + some picks for Drummond and Jennings!

We go all in young.

Please repeat after me... Drummond isn't going anywhere.....

I think Detroit is trending up so I wouldnt try and trade for future firsts with them. Drummond is going to blossom and Van Gundy seems competent.Just have to think of a team that will stink 2-5 years down the line even if we trade them rondo...

Pacers, Grizzlies, Hawks fit that bill imo. Grizzlies especially, that team is old, in a small market, and going to implode and sink to the bottom of the league very soon.

With Caron Butler and DJ Augustin signed by Pistons, it sounds like they view themselves as a playoff team competing NOW.

I think this makes them more likely to move Monroe or Smith. I'll take either and think Danny can get good value.

Rondo for Monroe wouldn't be the worst trade we could make.

Shaq... you list the heat as one of the three worst teams?  chalmers, Wade, Deng, Bosh, MCRoberts, Granger, Cole, Anderson (so far).  not sure how that is anywhere near as bad as us or the Lakers.

Per Hoopshype - Detroit is apparently only offering Monroe $12 m / year, which seems low.  Maybe we can snag him

I wonder what it would take? Maybe we'd have to take on Smiths contract, but maybe they could take on Wallace's, and we'd have to Send Sully or KO.S&T Humps? Send Bass? But I'm not to sure Monroe and Smith front court would work, spacing a bit of an issue. Green helps with the 3 point shot. But then we fall off again at the 2 and 1.

I'd be tempted with a Rondo/Green for Codwell Pope/Monroe/filler.

Either
Rondo/Smart/Pressy
AB/Smart/Thorton
Green/Young
Smith/KOorSully
Monroe/Zeller/Fav(maybe in trade too)Anthony

Smart/Pressy
AB/Codwell-Pope/Thorton
Young/Wallace/
Sully/KO
Monroe/Zeller/Fave/Anthony

You would be, trouble is Detroit would fall out of the chair laughing at this offer.

I hope your right. Give Rondo help. The East is even more spread out now.
