I cant see Warriors trading Klay for picks
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

this makes no sense for GSW. Must be a bs rumor. If the Warriors want picks for Thompson, heck, we can give them better picks and Bradley too.

What in the world are Golden State getting back in return for Klay Thompson?

I can only see it working if the Cavs send Wiggins to GS.

If the Warriors are gonna give up Klay for picks and help Cleveland get Love, Wolves will have to also get Waiters or Bennett to make the salaries work.  That still doesn't resolve what picks G-St would get

2 picks to Minnesota and 2 to Golden state to make this work?

Minnesota gets the package they want, Warriors get picks and salary relief for Klay/Lee.  Give them Young too?

If we can get Love/Martin and keep Rondo/Bradley/Smart/Green it would be a huge win.  Picks be danged!

It makes sense from Minnesota's perspective if they value Klay Thompson and see him as a guy who they are willing to give a max contract extension to.  It'd be reasonable to call Flip an idiot for making that assessment.

Is Tristan Thompson an upgrade over David Lee and his contract?  I'd guess Flip still want to move Kevin Martin's contract.

Cleveland can send two of their three 2015 first-round picks (they have protected picks from Memphis and Miami, while Chicago has the right to swap with the Cav's own 2015).  The protected 2016 pick they owe to Boston ties up their other future firsts.  That doesn't seem like enough.

Maybe Dion Waiters goes back to GSW? Can't see them giving up Klay for picks and not getting a replacement for him. That'd be a serious step back for them.

2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington

valuing Clay Thompson as a max guy when he's just a role player and giving up Love for him is why Flip is an idiot.

sure i'm a little bitter as I did want Love. but as much as I can't stand our roster currently, I am so glad Danny didn't pull the trigger on something stupid and even more happy that we didn't help that moron improve his team. the T-wolves deserve their perpetual mediocrity.

the only reason Flip didn't value our picks or any draft picks for that matter because he knows they're not competent to draft successfully.

This is no where close to a done deal..all three teams have to be satisfied. Looong way from done. changes always possible.

Only guy buying this rumor is the guy reporting it and he's backing off.  Others have denied it vehemently already.

Yeah, I was thinking lsomething like that.

CLE trades:  Bennett, Waiters, Tristan Thompson, MEM #1, MIA #1
CLE receives:  Love

GSW trades:  Klay Thompson
GSW receives:  Waiters, MEM #1, MIA #1

MIN trades:  Love
MIN receives:  Bennett, T. Thompson, K. Thompson

I don't see why GSW would facilitate a Love trade, though.  Waiters + two #2s isn't a bad return for Thompson if GSW is concerned that he'll be too expensive, but priority one has to be bringing Love to Golden State.

Agreed. If they're hesitant to move Klay for Love, I don't see them moving Klay so someone else gets Love.
