Heat also had a weak bench....
the difference with Cavs and Heat before are:
Kyrie as improved version of Wade
Varejao improved version of Haslem/Birdman

varejao can't last the whole season, injury prone player
heat bench are all 3 point shooters which makes it hard to defend
but the spurs turns the heat offense in a counter mode via ball movement, last playoffs wade bosh battier allen chalmers can't hit 3's, all are cold ice

unless lebron recruited allen chalmers miller jones,  i would say they are a threat

He's last long inactive game was 2yrs ago... Varejao just played 65 games last year
Yeah they're surrounding LBJ with 3pt shooters that he like... heard Cavs are recruiting Allen, Miller

It doesn't have to the big 3.  It can be the big 2 with Urving and Lebron, with high level role players.  At least for now, and maybe Wiggins and/or Waiters can make the jump to make it a big 3.   They may still end up with Love, but it's going to be very tough if they don't trade Wiggins.

I agree with that.  The concept that a "big three" is necessary to contend is way overblown.  Cleveland could win with a big one plus a rising star in Irving along with a collection of very good young players mixed with complimentary veterans could win a championship.

They don't need a "big three". LeBron, Kyrie, Waiters, and Wiggins could win the title in a few years. They don't need to trade for Love. In five years, the combination of Waiters and Wiggins could be better than a 30 year-old Kevin Love.

In 5 years LeBron won't be the best player in the league anymore. If Wiggins doesn't pan out and they don't bring in someone really good they won't have much of a window.

Yeah I don't really see the sense in having the best player in the world in his prime and waiting till he's past his prime in the hopes that your young players develop into elite all-stars to help him then (esp when there's a chance they'll never make it to that level), when you could get another elite all-star to help him right now in his prime. But the same Cleveland ownership did totally mismanage LeBron's first tenure with the team. It will be somewhat amusing to see if that happens again. I wonder if he'll be singing the same tune as in his much-praised letter if two years from now they haven't made the finals and the roster isn't panning out like they hoped.
