Been a busy day.  Will be interesting to see what Melo does.  Maybe he goes to the Heat.

Wow...

Rose
Butler
Melo
Gasol
Noah

Top 3 team in my mind if Rose can at least stay healthy enough to average at least 10 PPG and 4 APG.

Pau to CHI means Melo isn't coming.

That's what I thought as well, with SA offering the better role imo for Pau at this stage of his career.  That would have been a loaded team.  Do the Bulls now deal Boozer in some kind of sign and trade to NY for Melo?  I'm pretty sure that the knicks have already used their amnesty clause, otherwise they wouldn't be trying to dump Amare on the 76ers, or anyone that is willing to take on that albatross of a contract, lol.

Rockets will push hard on Melo.. now they missed out on Bosh

I like this pickup for Chicago.

With Noah being the defensive energy guy, I think adding Gasol (the finesse, offensively oriented big) is a very nice compliment.

I would have to think that the combination of Gasol/Noah would have to be one of the best (if not the best) frontcourt duo's in the NBA.

If Rose manages to return and be somewhat effective (say, average 15/5 for the season) then this could be a really good team.

I popped onto a Bulls forum to get some perspective.

They don't have cap space at all, actually.   This would be a sign-and-trade.  Possibly something like Dunleavy, Butler, Randolph (all expiring) + some kind of pick compensation to the Lakers for Pau...

And then apparently they are going to continue and try to work out a Melo sign-and-trade utilizing Carlos Boozer (expiring)... Probably mirotic as well to give the Knicks some incentive.

Looks like the plan indeed is to have Rose, Melo, Gasol and Noah be a thing.

East is going to have some teams this year.  Cavs, Pacers, Heat (Bosh/Wade/Deng?), Bulls...  But it's coo cuz we traded for Tyler Zeller.  White Hakeem baby!... Lol.  (not excited about another tankjob)

It hasn't been easy. After meditating it a lot I've chosen to play with the Chicago Bulls. Looking forward to this new chapter of my career

Bulls can't aggregate Randolph's salary, and they'd be foolish to include Butler in a deal.

Can't they just sign Gasol to the MLE?

He should have gone to the Spurs.  That would have been a perfect fit for him, imo, and they would have been the favorite to repeat, imo.
