Per @ZachLowe_NBA, Warriors pondered absorbing Brandon Bass into their trade exception before it expired.

Considering the trade for Thornton, clearing Bass wouldn't have given the C's any extra cap space.

It is more handy to save Bass for a future trade that actually brings something back. And he is still a serviceable backup to rotate among our very young front court.

I think Bass is more than serviceable, he does not put up huge numbers but he plays great defense and has a sick jumper. David Lee has the worst interior defense in the league so it makes sense they would want a backup for him

Clearing Bass' salary does nothing for us because he's an expiring anyway. Id do it for a future pick even if its 2019.

I'm fine with Bass, I just don't want him getting 34 mpg over our young guys.

Not sure how big GS's TE was, but to me you do it for a protected 2nd Rounder if you can include Anthony:

- Gives the Celtics a new TE around $9 Million
- Frees up minutes for our young guys
- Gets us away from the Luxury Tax

The only color that matters is GREEN

He might in the first half of the season to see if there are any takers for him. If not, than more cap space next summer.

draft pick for Bass ha ha.  Trading Bass would have allowed Boston to trade Bogans.  Now I suspect they just cut Bogans.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Bogans is non-guaranteed until January I believe. No reason to cut him now, he can be used to make a trade until February. Rather him be on our roster instead of Pressey, Johnson , or Babb .

Yeah, I'm of the opinion that bass has no value such that DA can't give him awy.  In other words, while gs could have bad him for nothing, it wasn't worth it to them to pay his salary.

Bass has plenty of value to contending teams and he now is in his last year of his contract.

Brandon "La Cucaracha" Bass. You can't keep him out of the starting lineup. Every time, someone hurts their ankle and he's back in. Now you can't trade him. Amazing!!!
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.
