Luol Deng's representatives spoke with Miami officials today, league source says. Deng hopes to choose landing spot in next 24 hours.
I think Deng would be a really good third option alongside Wade and Bosh. Give Miami a strong nucleus to build around. I'd like to see that happen.

It might be time to go back in for Isaiah Thomas with remaining cap space.

Too late.

Missed that. $27 million, 4 years. Not so bad really. Do not understand why Phoenix went after him so hard though.

I would root for the Heat in a playoff series versus the Cavs.
So would I.

Not me. Wade's a jerk and maybe the dirtiest player in the league. LeBron's got his flaws, but he seems nice, and he's taking less money while trying to bring hope beyond basketball to a desperate place that also happens to be home to him.

And a wing defender.

Yeah, Morey's not looking the best right now.

Wow. Cool. This is unexpected. Go get your money Bosh.

Deng or Paul Gasol would be nice fits on this team. Or make a run at Ariza,

Yeah, Pau Gasol would be fun. Always liked the idea of Bosh + Pau together. Two big men as skilled as Bosh and Pau would take a lot of pressure of the decline in talent on the perimeter.

Houston went after Bosh pretty hard in 2010 too.  I think he was the only other team besides Miami he was considering.

Houston fans have been teased with Bosh twice now.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Me either...I will never root for Dwayne Wade. He is a jackass on and off the court.

I'm not one to dislike a team for one player..but Wade makes it hard to like Miami.

Agreed, I would rather the Bulls/Nets kick either of their asses in the playoffs

I don't understand why Miami even wants him now. Do they seriously think they can contend with Bosh and Wade? They'll be a low seed in the east, and if they were in the west they wouldn't even make the playoffs. It's better for them to let Bosh go and start over. They may be going after Carmelo, but he wanted to play with LeBron, not play in Miami.

The East is still awful. I see Miami as easily a top 6 seed, arguably top 4 if they bring in someone like Deng.

Wow - guess Bosh has an extra 32 million reasons to stay in Miami over Houston, but that's a shock.  Rockets must be freaking out right now - whiffing on big free agents and will probably have to forgo long-term cap space by eating Parsons' new deal.
