I realize he's not coming here, this is just a hypothetical.

Personally, I don't think I would. I wouldn't want him for the same reason I don't like him. He's the enemy. I want the Celtics to beat him. It's that mentality that he lacks that makes me dislike him. He wants to team up with his competitors rather than beat them. If he were to play for my team, whatever he won would feel hollow to me. At least that's how I feel now. If he was on my team and I watched him closely maybe i'd start to feel different, but I doubt it.

Am I alone in feeling that way, or am I stupid for not wanting my team to have a great player?

If we got Lebron, all we would need to do is stockpile all our assets into like Anthony Davis or Andre Drummond, and its game over.

Not to sound harsh but anybody who doesn't want Lebron, the greatest player in the world on their team is either lying or foolish...

I'm not a huge fan of him right now but I'd be doing backflips if he signed here. It's about the front of the jersey not the back, and Lebron would do wonders for the Cs name or any team he signs with for that matter

Of course I'd want Lebron here.

He's the best player in the league.

But I know it's not going to happen.

I will admit though, I am a big hypocrite.

I hate all the attention Lebron gets, but if he was a Celtic, I'd defend him and call everyone else jealous.

Confession time (lol)

About the only "great" player I wouldn't have wanted to play here is Kobe.  I'd be psyched to have Lebron.

Absolutely.   LeBron probably takes this 26 win team to 60+ wins by himself.  Aint nothin you can't like bout that.

I don't like him. But I'd take him to win championships. Now if it was someone like Kobe then I couldn't do it. But James I could deal with it.

I never have cared for him, so no I do not want him here.   But I would root for him if he was in green.   But it isn't going to happen, we beat him for years like a dog.

While on the subject, I'd have no problem with Kobe in a Celtics jersey either.

That's a bit of a stretch.  The C's knocked his team out of the playoffs twice.  His team knocked the C's out of the playoff twice.  Seems even to me.

Absolutely

and anyone who says otherwise is thinking with their heart, not their head

best player on the planet.

i hated him for a while after the decision and the way he handled it, and himself but he is far too good to hold a grudge against. Lebron is a player you have to appreciate watching his greatness while you can

i still want to embarrass him every time he steps on the court against the Celtics but if he ever wanted to play for the Celtics, i'd take him in a heartbeat

Absolutely. If the greatest plAyer of this generation wanted to come here, you don't say no. Anyone who says otherwise has the green fanboy glasses on.

Lol... it took a transcendent performance by our own Paul Pierce (with help from KG and Ray) to knock off King James and his crew of bums back in '08... we beat them by a whole 5 points in Game 7.   We came very very close to never winning Banner 17.  LeBron's best teammate in those playoffs was Delonte West.  Pretty pathetic supporting cast.

I guess I am in the minority.

I just see it as selling out. I want my players to bleed green and be all about the organization. It seems Lebron just uses whatver organization he plays for as a vehicle to further himself and his place in the game. I want to embrace my  star players and I want them to embrace the team they play for.
