  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Starting five:

Rondo
Bradley
Green
Sully
Zeller

bench:

Bass
Olynyk
Thornton
Smart
Wallace

Third string (5-8 mins a game):

Pressey
Young
Vitor

Maybe 35 wins if we stay injury free.
Playoffs?
BAHAHAHAHAHA! Keep dreaming you hopeful leprechauns.

Same story as last year:
*no rim protection
*average to below average shooting.
*Defensively we are average at best.
*We have Zeller, but lack size.

We do have a few wildcards:
- Marcus Smart- is he going to be a first year beast? His shot suggests he won't, but he's a       grown man and ready to play with NBA big boys.

- Rondo is back and has had a summer to work out and get in shape. Stevens has his first year under his belt.

- Jarred Sullinger can play power forward as an NBA starter, and looks to play his first full season without injury recovery.
He's the biggest wildcard for me and I'm hoping that I'm right in predicting this will be his breakout year as a 16 point 10 rebound guy.

Read that last line again. One more time.

Nash
Bradley
Green
Sullinger
Zeller

Assumes Rondo gets traded.
Then we would demand Julius Randle. I hope they have not yet signed him,

It really depends on which direction the team takes. I still think the team has one more tank left, in order to get a center in the draft.

I guess it depends a lot on if we're trying to win games and develop youth or lose them and showcase guys for trades

G1: Smart/Pressey
G2: Bradley/Young
SF: Wallace/Humphries
PF: Sully/KO
C: Zeller/?

I have Wallace at the SF position because I believe Green will be dealt.  Not knowing what we will get in return, I put Wallace into that slot.  I also called out G1 and G2 rather than PG and SG since the two may intertwine.  It's an ugly lineup for sure, with losing out on Love (yes I think he winds up with the Cavs and Bron), its tankapaloosa again next year.

I'm sorry, but you have Humphries at the small forward position.  I think you've made some kind of weird mistake.

I don't think they will have.  Even if they don't intend to trade him, he'll sign for 120% of his slot value, but his cap hold will only be his slot value prior to then.  Since the Lakers are trying to (smartly) squeeze the most out their cap room, delaying the signing of Randle will create an extra $500k of cap room.

This team could be the worst Celtics team ever....

If I am not mistaken the Sully Olynyk duo was pretty effective, at least on offense, last season.

Rondo / Smart
Bradley / Thornton
Green / Wallace
Sullinger / Bass
Olynyk / Zeller

11th man: Young

That is actually a fairly balanced roster. They could win 41 games if healthy.

Certainly they still need a starting center, an upgrade in 3 point shooting, and a star player that can finish games.

30-win team at best...

Well, given that pretty much that same squad won 24 games last season, 30 wouldn't be too bad.

he's only 27. he better not be anywhere near rotting.

Sadly his potential stagnated years ago. Oh well always a place for one gunner on a team.
