Again it was fun to do a 3 team trade going back and forth with different trade proposals...thought we might had to get a 4th team involved lol
I mean, doing it as a 3 team trade was fun/cool, but really in the NBA the main reason 3-team trades exist is so that teams can put together complex financial deals. The only reason you'd really do it in fantasy is if a team needs another part in order to complete a deal. For instance, Team A would need Team B's 1st round pick to combine with their own 1st round pick in order to get Team C's all-star. In that instance it would look like this:
Team A Sends:
A player - going to team B for their pick
Their own first - going to Team C
Team B's 1st - going to Team C
Team A receives:
Allstar - From Team C
... But the trade you guys pulled off doesn't really have any 3-team logic behind it. You kind of have to look at it for what it actually was... a series of three trades combined into 1.
Trade 1:MMSB Trades:
Kevin Martin - 28.7FP
DeMarre Carroll - 26.5FP
Shabazz Muhammad - 2013 #14th pick
Birdman Trades:
Rodney Stuckey - 21.6FP
David West - 32.5FP
Trade 2:Rondo2287 Trades:
Jose Calderon - 24.5FP
Jordan Adams - 2014 22nd pick
MMSB Trades:
Ray Felton - 25.3FP
2015 1st Rounder (Top 18)
Trade 3:Rondo2287 Trades:
Amare Stoudemire - 22.5FP
Birdman Trades:
2015 1st round pick (Top 18)
I mean, it would have made logical send as a 3-teamer if MMSB was like, "Eh... I'm on the fence about giving up all of that for West and Stuckey... if you can find a way to include Amare, i'm in" and then you went and moved your 2015 for Amare and included him in your trade package. But that's not what happened... you just gave up your 2015 for Amare independently from your trade with MMSB.
It's not a terrible trade for anyone, but I like it most for Rondo2287. He had 5 cuts to make and this landed him both of your 1st rounders while freeing up 2 roster spots. I'm consistently impressed by the moves Rondo2287 makes.
