Boston gets: Kevin Love, Kevin Martin

Minny gets: Brandon Bass, Joel Anthony, Keith Bogans, Sully, this years #6 and #17, New Jersey's 2016 and 2018 pick.

When it comes to trading for KLove, it seems like a lot of responses fall in the "depends on the price" category.  I am the same way.  I made this poll in an attempt to gauge what people would be willing to give for KLove.  I think this is the kind of offer that may be needed to get Minny to pull the trigger.

Personally, I voted no.  This would be past my KLove threshold.  I like Love.  I don't love Love.

No. 2018 Brooklyn is the dealbreaker, esp. if we're already sending them '16.

I would swap the Nets 2016 for our 2016. With Sully and the 6th pick they are already getting really nice young talent to start off with.

I'd do that deal.

In addition to one of the best PF's in the game, we'd also be getting a scoring SG back that helps you create a pretty solid 3 guard rotation of Rondo/Bradley/Martin (should we resign Avery).

It's hard to consider a pick in 2018 a deal breaker - there's just no way to predict what a pick that far in the future will be.  And we still have the option of switching with NJ in 2017, so all assets aren't lost.

According to reports, they aren't that high on Sully. Some of their fans seem to think they prefer KO actually.

Since they reportedly wanted to take KO last year, this is not surprising. There is no reason they wouldn't still like him after a solid rookie campaign. I think pretty equally of both of them so I don't mind them making the selection. My only worry is that Sully would definitely want to start while KO seems more amenable to being a 6th man, but that is just my opinion.

As for the trade up top - no way. Three picks is enough - and I really don't want to give up any of the BKN picks. If things don't go as fantastically as we hope next year with Love, we may be left with nothing. I really don't know where Minny gets off demanding so much, especially since the competition really doesn't seem to be there.

I really can't wait for a resolution to this thing - one way or another.

I agree with the trade however I would like the ability to choose either Brooklyn's 2018 pick or ours.  I still think we have the best package but I think if they do trade with us KO is gone...

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I would love to have Love (no pun).

But man, that's actually the one reason we can sell Kevin Love that we can win in the next two years.

We have future assets that can turn into either quality help or great draft picks. The Nets picks will be highly valuable as, unless they do something, they are destined to mediocrity with their core getting old and no draft selections coming in to replenish the tank.

That's giving up too much. I'd do those players, the #6, a bunch of second rounders, either of the 2015 first and our own 2017 first. Now if you look at it quantity wise, its pretty much the same, but we should not let go of those Nets picks unless we really have too. Those are carbon waiting to be turned into diamonds.

The price is about 1 Brooklyn pick too many for me, although which one is hard to say without a crystal ball. This year, 6, their own and 17 is a good arsenal of picks for the Wolves to trade away for something better. I doubt very much they would use all or even two of them.
