that makes sense, but I also gather that the Brazilians totally dislike Argentina.
This might be a slight understatement -- Brazilians rooting for Argentina is like Celtics fans rooting for the Lakers, pretty much  ;D

i love football rivalries !

Awesome

Machine versus Messi... This should be fun.

More like Beatles versus Stones, harmonic performance vs Rockstar Jagger and the rough and tumble bunch 8) (at least that's how they marketed it over the last few days)
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Oh no, Khedira's injured, and newcomer Kramer will play instead alongside Schweinsteiger and Kroos.

Is Kramer any good? I had never seen him play before this tournament.

That is a bummer about Khedira. He was excellent in semi final against Brazil. Germany have looked much more secure defensively again since Khedira came into the team alongside Scheweighsteiger and Kroos in central midfield.

Aguero on the bench again. About this time last year, I was toting Aguero as Golden Boot winner in this World Cup. I thought this tournament would be a coming out party for him. From well received star player to consensus top 3 to top 5 player in World Football.

Germany clearly going to be the aggressor in this game. Argentina to sit back, defend well and try to hit Germans on the break.

Argentina getting some nice chances so far.  They are having some success in their two and three pass buildups.

Lavazzi and Messi are a lot faster than the German defenders (excluding lahm) and they ll exploit it in every chance

Put Aguero on instead of Higuain

I think the plan is to use highs in to collect long balls and serve it to the flanks. Agreed is too small to fight however and hummels

Argentina's defense has done phenomenally well over the last couple of games.

Giving Germans no sight of goal. Possession in safe areas of pitch. No penetration.
