Something tells me Odom and Jeff Taylor will be hotly contested waiver pickups...

I see your Odom and Taylor and raise you Mullens and Vesely.

Mk

Mullens at least has a shot at stepping on an NBA court this year...

Only after the CBA season is over in March. I am betting that he fired his agent after opting out of his contract with the Sixers this season.

thanks --- there's no rush you still have 2+ weeks and I'll send out a reminder next week.

I like this deal for GC. He gets by far the best player in Lawson for some prospects and picks.

I'm always wary of trades where the side giving up picks is also probably giving up the most production across the board.  Lawson's clearly the best player, but also somewhat injury-prone, and will very likely produce less than Beverley and G Green combined.  It'll really depend on whether he stays healthy, and relatedly where GC winds up in the standings this year.

Wolters is the X-factor, though, he looked pretty good in limited time last season.

EDIT:  Didn't realize Noguiera's in the league now too.

My face just looked at Ty Lawson's stats and saw that not only has his FG% dropped each year he's been in the league, but it's dropped by more each year than it did the year before, and transformed into an even less attractive version of its usual self.   :-*

Eh, I think it's the 2015 1st that's the X-Factor. A lot of pressure on GC to win now. Since a likely lottery pick at the trade deadline would've fetched him a much better return. Our former commissioner used to pull these exact sorts of trades off every summer while chasing that 8th seed. It's a tough road. I do like Wolters but not with Knight and Marshall ahead of him. GC is probably going to have to cut both project sophomores to make the most of this deal.

But if, in the end, he only gives up a pick in the 12-15 range it's a hands down win. Lawson has more long term value than either Beverley (this is his year) or Gerald Green (Phoenix's wing rotation is way too crowded now.).

I like this trade for GC. He landed the best player. Eja got two productive players and a pick. I assume the gambler will package two of those up in some other deal later on. So I not so much worried about what he got in return.

Plus, Eja loves him some PatBev.

My all-time favorite sports-commentary memes/sayings are:

But, Eja's "Player x is like ____ (random # with decimals) Player ys" (Source: Eja/Celticsblog forums) is rocketting up the charts.
