Quote
Still, Boston is the sleeper gathering momentum in a process that is still beginning to unfold. The three top prospects in the draft ? Kansas' Joel Embiid and Andrew Wiggins and Duke's Jabari Parker ? could become franchise cornerstone players in the NBA. Nevertheless, Boston has multiple picks to offer in the next several years as part of a total package for Love, as well as the salary-cap space to perhaps take back an unwanted contract from Minnesota.

Love's agent Jeff Schwartz and Ainge have a strong relationship and a good working history. Ainge helped another Schwartz client, Paul Pierce, get to a preferred trade destination in Brooklyn a year ago. The Celtics believe they can sell Love on becoming the next big Celtics star, and all the adulation that comes with that for a franchise that has won 17 NBA championships.

I like hearing about Boston getting in the driver seat for a Love trade!

In just 2 more days we will know the ping pong results and we can really get into the nitty gritty of what the C's can do on draft night!

Can't see what Houston has to offer.

At least the Lakers have their lottery pick to put on the table.

I am so stoked.  C'mon, Danny, make this happen.

Their lottery pick is the only thing that's enticing to Minnesota.

Celtics have an equal-tier of lottery pick, and some assets they can package (Sully, Kris, etc.)  :)

I can't live without Kevin Love.

Rondo wants to re-sign, fine. Keep him around.

He demands to go through another year and free agency, ship him to Minny and get Rubio back.

Either way, we win.

It's almost worse now since its starting to feel more and more inevitable.

Gross.

I know right, why would the celtics trade for an allstar? I wish we could just fill our team with phil presseys and Gerald Wallaces.  ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

So, we're still not better than OKC or Miami after a Love trade. The regular season may be more entertaining, but ultimately that's all it would be. ECF exit (or possibly even 2nd round) isn't really good enough in my book.

I'd like to have Love here, but is Rondo/Green/Love that much better of a core than Rubio/Martin/Love/Pekovic?

It would be a step in the right direction, but I wouldn't be predicting a championship any time soon.
