Larry Sanders actually wouldn't be bad at all but I don't think MIlwaukee would deal him for Wallace.

However, this could work

Jeff Green and Brandon Bass for Ersyan Illyasova and Larry Sanders.

^^ agreeed... However trading JG for Sanders still would be an excellent deal from us as i think sanders can fix his issues eventually with Thr calm Brad Stevens as his mentor... A Larry Sanders/Rondo PnR would be SCARY!!

I agree.

I think this could be a pretty good lineup

PG-Rondo
SG - Bradley/Bayless/insert decent FA
SF-Ilyasova
PF-Sully
C-Sanders along with whoever the Celts draft (Smart, Exum, Randle,)

That's not a bad team (IMO)

Not sure about Ilyasova... Would rather Danny draft TJ Warren or someone else in the draft to play SF... Ilyasova is wayyy past his prime qnd isnt a great defender IMO... We could even get Hayward in FA and have him play SF... But overall a good team..

Bucks easily say no.

Not sure the Bucks could get much else for Sanders. His value is at an all time low after his injury and legal problems. He's making 11 million starting next season to play more or less the same role as John Henson.

I'd be ecstatic to see Sanders in Green barring he could stay healthy. It seems like forever since we've had a legit shot blocking center.

You do realise that Wallace was one of the worst players in the NBA last year, is one one of the worst contacts in the NBA, and is also injured...right?

Wallace had a +10.00 Efficiency Rating and was a rather good defender.  He was HARDLY one of the worst players in the NBA last year.  And he played HURT!!

Smitty77

From a contract to production standpoint, he is.
Given his aversion to shooting he killed our offense whenever he was in the lineup. Undid all of his defensive work and rebounding
You need a veteran leadership to show the way and wallace all out style will be great for the young Milwaukee kids learning the NBA...
And looking at their team and defensive specialist in the wings will not hurt them at all... will give them another approach while their develop Henson and Embid to be their new Larry Sanders for cheaper... Would you play your 11m trouble Center who fights with teammate and gets suspended for drug use or play your future bigs Henson and Embid to get them experience while you are rebuilding slowly and get rid of 10m dollars quicker to start trying to compete in about 2 years...??
plus a late first round pick for a 11m trouble player is not too bad! we have plenty of them so we can afford it but not sure they get better offers elsewhere....

Not much spacing or 3-pt shooting on that team. KO IMO would match better with Sanders.

I would rather keep Jeff Green!!
I know he is the scapegoat around here but Jeff is a very good player and is still young!
He will be performing in the right situation for him here with the celtics...
Here is my ideal team :

Rondo (12m) Bayless (vet min, 1m) Pressley (1m)
Hayward (S&T + 1pick, 9m) Bradley (6m) Young (draft, 1.5m)
Green (9m) Gordon (draft, 4m) Garcia (FA vet min shooter, 1m)
Sully (1.5m) Olynyk (2m) Bass (7m)
Sanders (11m) Humphries (7m) Faverani (2m)

For a total of 75m, just under the new tax...
Pretty good for a stacked team. :-)

That team is like the 5 types of headcases in the NBA.  It would fall apart immediately, although the talent is there

It's an interesting idea.  I've long felt that Wallace is destined to be a Buck. Milwaukee has been the land of the overpaid SF since Big Dog.  Richard Jefferson, Stephen Jackson, Corey Maggette, John Salmons, Caron Butler... Doesn't Gerald belong on that list?

Replacing Wallace with Sanders would make us that much more attractive to Love in 2015 FA too. Sanders could be to Love what Chandler was to Dirk.
2016 CelticsBlog Draft: Chicago Bulls

Head Coach: Fred Hoiberg

Starters: Rubio, Danny Green, Durant, Markieff Morris, Capela
Bench: Sessions, Shumpert, G. Green, T. Booker, Frye
Deep Bench: CJ Watson, H. Thompson, P. Zipser, Papagiannis, Mejri

Exactly - his value is at an all-time low and can only go up from his worse year as a professional player.  Which is exactly why they wouldn't consider something as silly as trading for an overpaid Gerald Wallace and a low first-rounder.
