is it reasonable to start to re-imagine that they might consider making Joakim Noah available for some younger assets and draft picks to help them rebuild?
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Rose will be back, eventually.  I don't see them as having an urgent need to "rebuild" at this point, and Noah is their best player right now.

No. Because they have Rose's contract which will prevent rebuilding one way or the other. Noah/Rose are whom they have to try and build around.

I would think Noah is untouchable. Especially since Rose still hasn't come back. If Rose and Noah spend a healthy year together and still can't get out of round one then things might change. But I really don't see a reason for them to move Noah yet.

Nah.  I don't think the Bulls are making any decisions based on this post-season, other than that they desperately miss Derrick Rose, and they need to amnesty Boozer and use the resulting salary to sign a player with some shot-creation ability.

I doubt it. In fact if anything, getting bounced from the first round would only increase the Bulls urgency to do something big this summer like acquiring a big name player such as Melo.

I think the Bulls still have too good of a team right now to rebuild.

If they could find a Derrick Rose deal out there, I would think they would do that but can't imagine another team wanting to take on that risk.

Allright.  It's a bit of a dream.  I'll let it go . . . for now.

It's a good dream, though. I'm all in.

If the Bulls wanted Sully, Olynyk and 2 picks for Noah, I would drive all four of them to the airport myself.

Someone would have to go in the trunk.

At this point, I'd consider this a big "if."

And even with a healthy Rose and Noah, the Bulls still need someone else.

The Bulls have the rights to the best player in Europe (Nikola Mirotic), who will in all likelihood join them next year.  They have two firsts (#16 and #19).  There is no reason for them to break anything up, aside from amnestying Boozer to create $17 million in cap room.

Wow...so they could presumably just give Boozer the boot and then use that money to sign Melo if he opts out of NY, right?

They're not blowing anything up this off-season.

They're actually in a pretty enviable position right now;  lots of assets, the potential return of Rose who at even 60% is a darn good player, the looming amnesty of Boozer.

They need a scorer.  A go-to guy.  If they can nab Melo this offseason on top of what they already have, then you are looking at a very dangerous basketball team.

Yeah replacing Boozer with Mirotic should be pretty painless.
