Only way a trade down happens is if DA think Exum is a star (which he might be)

I'd wait for them to call me.

That strategy works with the ladies.

Yeah, I mean we would have to be trading down to pick #4 (or #5 if Exum slides out of the top 4). I think I would take that chance. If Favors was somehow involved in discussions, I wouldn't worry about making sure we get Exum and would be okay with Gordon.

The thing is, every player and every pick has a price. If a team offers enough of what you want, there is no reason not to go through with a deal.

Absolutely.

"Hey Utah GM I didn't bother to look up, how's it going?"
"Fine.  What's going on?"
"I was just thinking about who to take with our top 3 pick.  Who are you planning on taking with yours?"
"...we don't have a top 3 pick."
"Oh...I see.  Well, good luck with that!" <click>

If the Jazz have a top 4 pick and draft Embidd, the Celtics should call and inquire about Kanter.

Do not offer the Celtics pick this year, but the Nets picks and some other future picks, yes.

If Favors is part of the package, sure. If not, no thanks. I think Hayward is really overrated. He's a good player, but I don't see him as being any better than Jeff Green (and I suspect he's going to get paid more than him).

Are teams allowed to trade consecutive first rounders if they receive a first rounder in return for one of those years?

Yes. The rule says a team must leave itself with a pick every other year, but the picks can be anyone's.

Note also that draft day trades of players after they're picked are an easy way to skirt the rule. E.g., on draft day we could trade the guy we pick #2 for the guy UTA picks #5 and their pick next year (assuming they have a 2016 pick, I haven't checked).

If Exum is the player available, at 4 or 5 from the Jazz, and we have Parker then I do it. However, I wouldn't if it's for Randle.

Kanter and rights to Exum for rights to Parker works for me. Kanter fills a major need at C, is still only 21 (22 next month), and has shown improvement each year. I obviously would love to get a future pick, but I would be happy with that trade.

Is there a possible scenario where Boston gets the #3 pick, and Orlando finishes #5 or #6?

If I'm looking at it right, I think so. Orlando might be an interesting trade partner in that kind of scenario.

Arron Afflalo please.

I'd be extremely, extremely upset if we traded Parker, Embiid or Wiggins for Afflalo and Randle or Exum and I like Exum quite a bit, too.. Randle as well, to be honest. Just don't like his fit with us is all.

Orlando likes Exum as well. Don't know if they would trade unless we threatened to take Exum and keep him.

I would draft Embiid/Parker.

Then i'd trade Rondo for Exum (#5 pick?), Hayward and Favors.

Utah trades Exum, Hayward, and Favors for Rondo?

Even if they could trade Hayward on draft night, I don't see them giving up that much for Rondo.
