I'd have to say Embiid. I dont think he will but centers are just such a crapshoot in the NBA he could just as likely become the next Hakeem as he could the next Oden.

After that I'd probably say Wiggins. His athleticism is unbelievable but his passive nature is a red flag.

I'd be ecstatic if the celtics got either but the amount of pressure on these guys makes their careers unpredictable.

I'd say Embiid due to his back issue, Exum due to the difficulty of evaluating his game from overseas competition and concerns about his thin frame and ability to hold up in the NBA, and Randle, who may have some serious struggles against bigger and faster players.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Randle reminds me of Thomas Robinson. I know he's more skilled, but I mean the consequences of the physicality of the NBA v NCAA.

Exum
EXum

Exum

Smart

These two guards will be be super or will disappear ......it's a coin toss for me . I sure wouldn't waste a top three pick on either

Emiid has the tools , but so did Fab Melo to large degree , but nothing between the ears.  I m not worried about his back so much ......wondering if he really is all THAT great .So yeah he is a risk at the top four pick area.  For a couple of reasons.

Randle won't be  a bust , no way ....he'll be 10 and 10 by end of rookie season.  Will he be great ?
maybe not , probably not ......but not a bust at 5 or 6 or latter

McDerrmott  ....no way I risk a top ten on him

Sleeper pick ...... The kid from Kansas.......he got game.

Do you really see Gordon as a top bust candidate? I see him as one of the safest picks. Immediately he will be a plus defender and a high motor guy who can play either forward spot. Sure, he probably won't be the best player from this draft, but I find it almost impossible that he's not at least top 10.

I tend to agree with Embiid (back) and Exum (unknown) as the two who could be superstars or fall off a map; I wouldn't hesitate taking either of them, though.

I just see alot of people saying they would take him 5th overall. I'm an offense guy and believe individual defense is sometimes overrated but that's another argument for another time. I just don't think he brings any legitimate nba skills offensively. Maybe he's a forward version of sophmore season Avery Bradley in that he scores exclusively off cuts to the hoop, and he plays good defense. Besides that he just isnt good offensively. He is a horrendous free throw shooter and has a shaky jumper.

Aaron Gordon - really isn't a SF, no perimeter skills and isn't big enough to play PF. He's a pogo stick. Like Chris Johnson (the PF, not ours) or Jarvis Varnado.

Noah Vonleh - can't shake the impression he'll pan out to be about as good as Ekpe Udoh. Their measurements are very similar. I take him at maybe 6, but at 7 for sure but I think whoever we pick at 17 could end up the better player in 10 years.

Exum - bit of a tweener. I believe in his skills, but out of the top-5 if anyone's going to be a bust, it's Exum.

Randle is one of the safest players to pick, I would think. He probably has the highest floor but one of the lowest ceilings among the top prospects.

Most likely bust for me would be... Jabari Parker or Marcus Smart.

i never got the hype of marcus smart. for a point guard, he's incredibly slow.

Aaaaand the only one not mentioned in this thread yet is Parker.

Parker is the safest pick and surest bet for an allstar.

What do you do if the player most likely to be a bust is a high-risk, high-reward guy who is also the most likely to be a HOFer?
