This Blazer team is serious

Could it also be that these Rockets are not (serious)?

I'd put it on Harden tonight.  6-19 with 5 turnovers and 6 fouls, and that doesn't include the matador defense and bad body language he's also contributed.  Really disappointing showing from him in this game, because I think the rest of his team has played well enough to win.

The matador defense that sealed the game for PDX -- Matthews was Harden's man when he went upcourt for that last layup, I think.

Anyway, as someone who's been cheering for the Blazers for a while now, it's nice to see them come out so decisively.

James Harden struggles in the big games where he doesn't get his usual stack of free throws.

Until Harden learns not to hold the ball for 10 seconds before making a move, Rockets won't make any noise in the playoffs.

What does that say about Dwight Howard?

Nothing. This is on Harden and McHale. Have to let others beat you, not LA.

I agree.  Not crazy about his game.  Relies too much on being a pinball... sometimes that contact he creates just leads to offensive fouls and turnovers, like tonight.

Bummer if you're a Houston fan, because I don't think Howard is going to play any better.  32/14 with 4 blocks is a very strong game despite the fact that he faded in the second half.  Honestly think he lazed his way through the regular season and just doesn't have the wind to dominate an entire game right now - I really doubt that he has it in him to string together two halves like the first one he had tonight.

They wouldn't have picked Batum and Lillard then.

Wasn't Batum there in the Brandon Roy era?

Doesn't matter anyway. Wouldn't need Batum with Durant. Lillard, though...would they still have been able to do the Wallace trade?

Imagine this Portland team with Kevin Durant

I think his development would've suffered trying to live up to Jordan's legacy.

He definitely could.

Harden is such a frustrating guy to watch, he's been awful these two games for Houston. A combination of lazy defense, poor shooting, and brilliant drives to the lane.

The last part is what makes it so frustrating, he can be so very good.

I think they should fire him. They need a better coach. A defense first coach who will get them playing harder defensively.

There's little to no fan support for the Hawks whatsoever.

Sad.  :(
