No way!!  Maybe this means we'll have better luck on May 20th.

If we had one less of your pride wins we wouldn't be in this situation :P

Sorry.  I won't try as hard next time.

I may as well come clean now.  I am actually Phil Pressey.

Look at the bright side. We now have a bigger chance of drafting McDermott via the Brooklyn pick ::)

Minor stomach punch.

Screw that.  We didn't come this far in our tank job to get the 4th or 5th pick.  We are going all out for #1.  This coin flip only impacted that 1 in 1001, so don't sweat it.  Go C's!!!!

That's why I said minor.

Just two years ago, New Orleans lost the coin toss to Cleveland.  Low & behold, they ended up with the #1 overall pick when the lottery came around.

Nothing's been lost yet except one extra ping pong ball.

Granted, it was for the #3 pick and not the 4th, but still.

It's just one extra Ping pong ball it's not a big deal, the odds are still the same.

Nothing's been lost except you know huge odds of getting the highest pick possible.

If we won the coin toss we would have had an 80% chance of getting a top 5 pick. Now that we lost we have just a 50% chance of getting a top 5 pick.

We also now have a 65% chance of our pick being between 5-7

The odds for a top-3 pick are the same.  We no longer have a shot at the #4 pick, and the odds that we'll fall outside the top-5, are significantly higher than for Utah.

Fair enough.  I'm just not ready to say they've gotten screwed when literally nothing has happened yet besides some odds shifting.

I'll save my "screw job/luck of the Irish" rants til after the lottery actually occurs.   If it bites them in the butt, it bits them in the butt but not yet.

Ouch.  Big stomach punch chart.  But you gotta move forward. Looking back and complaining wont help.

On a side note, it's great that we're all sitting here obsessing about the Celtic's draft pick that will be decided in over a month.   I love the B's but I'll take Celtics talk over endless playoff 'talking-head' speculation any day.

Go C's; Go B's!

This doesn't matter much. Its been top 3 or bust since day 1. Exum never excited me. If we end up with 5th or 6th so be it. It just means we won too many games and should have never let it get to a coin flip in the first place.

There is a 67.1% chance that either the Jazz or the Celtics will make it into the top 3. So we will only be negatively effected by this flip 32.9% of the time.

Its a significant loss in scenarios where both the celtics and jazz miss the top 3, but people should remember this hardly effects our chances of getting into the top 3. (all we lost was one ping pong ball.)

I'm glad we won the second one. Obviously it's the less valuable pick. But going into the day our best possible scenario is pick #1 and #17, and that is still in play.
Sorry, i'm an optimist.
