  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
1) Havlicek or Bill Russell wearing all their rings.
Hold their hands up to the camera showing all the rings to send a message that we ain't here to &$@# around.
If we then zingered a top 3 pick it would be spine tingling.

2)send Len Bias' mum wearing his jersey. She's now a drug awareness campaigner. Tingle effect similar to above.

3)Rondo wearing his ring.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
just noticed in 2007 we had the #2 spot and fell back to #5
In 2007 our chances were:
#1 .199
#2 .188
#3 .171
#4 .319
#5 .123

5 was the worst we could have gotten.

I don't know man..so you're saying championship next season?

Find a Celts fan whose life expectancy is 5 days after the draft so they can will us a top pick but have time to go home and be with his/her family in his/her last days. Ehh, maybe too far?

Danny or CBS.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Just incase people don't know, we've never actually had the number one pick.

Does Wyc have a young son? That worked out really well for Dan Gilbert and the Cavs last year. =)

Not entirely true. we won the first pick in 1980 (before my time) and obviously the entire order selection process was completely different and that pick was one we traded for in the first place (it was Detroit's.) we've still had the first pick before.

We're also the only team to have traded the first pick. We did so for Kevin McHale (3rd) and Robert Parish.

I'm not sure that this is true.  Or, perhaps it's technically true, but there have been draft day trades where the player picked #1 was moved.

Orlando traded the #1 pick in the Chris Webber draft, and Elton Brand was picked #1 and was traded to the Clippers, as well.

Correct as usual, Roy. All in the wording, I suppose. Pretty sure we're the only team to have traded the pick prior to the draft and actually "officially" making the pick, though.

Yup and just another FYI - We drafted Larry Bird with the #6 overall pick in the 1978 NBA draft.  So if we end up with the #6 pick, maybe it's not the end of the world after all? ;)  *shrug*
