Jeff Green makes basically 9 million over the next two years of his contract. He plays very solid D, does not miss games and is not in any way a headache to the team. He also plays out of position a ton and did not have Rondo out there to help him much this year. Basically he is absolutely worth 9 million a year. Here are some other Small Forwards and what they are paid. I am leaving out Carmelo, KD and LeBron as clearly you would take any of those guys over Green.

Rudy Gay: 17 Million

Paul Pierce: 15 Million

Luol Deng: 15 Million

Josh Smith: 13.5 Million

Richard Jefferson: 11 Million

Nicolas Batum: 11 Million

Danilo Gallinari: 10 Million

Gerald Wallace: 10 Million

Shawn Marion: 9 Million

Thaddeus Young: 9 Million

Those guys all get paid more than Green. Would you take any of them over him? If you would it would be close. Right below him are guys like Ersan Ilyasova, Trevor Ariza, Tayshaun Prince, John Salmons. All of them make between 7 and 8 million. I would not take any of those guys either. Basically there is Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, Harrison Barnes and Ironically Gerald Green who make less and you would most likely take over Green. That means you could easily say Green is a top ten SF. For 9 million I call that a good deal.

Good points.

As I've said before, Jeff Green's biggest sin was being acquired for Wilt Cham ... er, Kendrick Perkins.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Agreed, which should make it easier for Danny to have him on a bus out of town this summer.

Great point. Perk makes the same as Green. Who would you rather pay 9 mill to now? In the end we fleeced OKC.

Better question, how many of them are overpayed for what they do at this point?

I would say 9 out of the 10 are now overpayed for what they can do now.

If I had my choice as to who I wanted on my team, it would be Perk -- but not for anywhere near $9 million.   ;D

Batum and it's not close.  Pierce's deal at least makes sense, but some of those...wow.
