This season is an abject failure. The only person to blame is Danny Ainge. He didn't have the guts to finish blowing it up and needs to be shown the door. The Celtics need someone to run the Sixers model. Which in turn is the Thunder model. Boston needs young stars and right now no one on the roster is a star player. It's a bunch of role players being put into starting roles. Rondo on a contender is a role player, not a star. People should see that by now.

Not sure how anybody can all it a failure before the draft, trades or next season....Probably the same people who called the 07 season a failure, and we all saw how that went.  ;D

This season is an abject failure.

You do know that we could finish with THE WORST record and still not get a top 3 pick?

The Celtics are going to end up with a bottom 5 record, in all likelihood.  Hard to see how that's an abject failure if the goal is to get a good draft pick.

It may not be the right thing to do to call something a failure before the outcomes are determined, but we're seriously splitting our chances and opportunities to win a top three pick. That in itself is a huge mistake at this junction. At worst right now we could have been tied for 3rd. That's a excellent position to be in. So many chances. So many opportunities. Now we're duking it out to not be sixth. That's a failure on our part to better our chances of the future.

But the winning mentality for the bunch of nobodies we have on this team is too important.

What you're saying suggests that beating Charlotte last night was "an abject failure."  Perhaps there's an argument there.  But beating Charlotte, or winning another game or two before the season is over and thereby moving a spot or two down in the lottery odds, doesn't make the entire season an abject failure.

can't see us losing to the 76ers the next game. Even with Rondo playing.

But for the last game, the Wizards should win as they are fighting to move up higher in the standings. Losing that game would also potentially drop Brooklyn giving us a better 1st 2nd pick (can someone clarify if the Wiz and Nets have identically records, how the tie breaker would work?)

Unless other teams win, especially the lakers/jazz it looks like we will draft 6th unless we can the lotto

Rondo, Bradley, Sully and KO are not nobodies.
