i asked Tim if he was happy we won, and there is no answer.  I don't know what to think.

Are some people here actually Celtics fans, or just pure Rondo fans?

Tankers hate it but the kids deserved this win!
Yeah.   This year:  6-23 (.206) with Rondo...   18-32 (.360) without him.

I think the kids enjoy sharing the ball.  I think Stevens enjoys players who play within his system.  It'll be really interesting to see if we actually keep Rondo next season.  I was pretty sure that if a trade was going to happen it would have happened during the deadline... but I get why so many people think he's going to be shipped out on draft day.

Nice win for the kids.  We'll likely drop to #6 in the tank race by the end of the season.  Should still get a nice player in the 6-8 range when we pick.

Yup.....

Stevens an't a tanker like the Lakers coach ....who will go along with Mitch's wishes ......

Stevens doesn't have a tanking bone  in him.....

I think Rondo does though

And thAt maybe the situation.

Danny probably has agreed with Stevens not to force a tank on him

So it is what it is

Stevens will win the next three if he can

If rondo plays tomorrow night will he do a better job of moving the ball?

Last two seasons seem to paint a picture of a team that plays better without Rondo.

I love Rondo as much as the next guy.  I think he's a flawed, but entertaining player.  All those years I spent watching the Celtics without a pure point guard... all we did was beg for a pure point guard.  It was funny... Orien Greene would make a nice pass and the fandom would collectively lose their ****ing mind.  Tommy would scream RUNN... RUNNNN... RUNNNN!!!... we desperately wanted a guy who could control the ball and dish out assists.   Now here we are... we actually have what we begged for all those miserable early 00s seasons.  An upper-tier pure point guard who controls the ball, gets assists and has funky intangibles (if only point guard "rebounding" was a relevant stat).  And now here we are saying "man... wish we had a point guard who was an offensive threat... wish we had a team that shared the ball more".

I'm sure you can build an elite team with Rondo as one of the key contributors.  We've seen it back when KG, Ray and Pierce were closer to their primes.   But it's interesting that over the past couple years, the team has consistently played better with Rondo out.  They share the ball and the offense becomes less predictable.    Will be interesting to see what happens next season.

no. He will though do a better job of pounding the all, slow down the pace and give the opposing defenders some breathing room

Sure it will.....Lakers GM knows it ....

We are screwed

A freakin chance to get a real center .....and Stevens throws it away ....so he can feel good about winning meaningless games.......

25 more years of waiting for us to draft a player like big Al ...worthy of trading for All star talent

Yup were are screwed

I'm on the tank brigade but at the end of the day it's all luck anyway. I wanted to lose this game badly but anything can happen with those ping pong balls.

True.  Worst-case scenario we are picking 10th.

I was at the Garden tonight, and that was a fantastic, enjoyable win.  The place was buzzing, and Phil Pressey had a great game.  As Avery said in that quote, he really did seem to energize everybody with his hustle.

This was a real team effort.  I'd love nothing more than to see these guys win the remaining three.

Go Celtics!!!!!
