Please Danny, let Avery walk in the offseason. He is one of the biggest ball hogs i've ever seen. He can't do anything without a pick and he takes the shot as soon as the ball reaches his hands.
I think Avery on a team where his role goes back to being a hustle, defensive role-player may be a very valuable guy for the C's in a couple of years. I am guessing that Stevens is encouraging the on-court behavior you are seeing out of AB. I think he wants to see what AB can do if playing aggressively on offense. I do think Avery has potential to be a very effective two-way player, but he does make a lot of mistakes with the ball at present.
But in fairness, between injuries (self and Rondo) and changing team dynamics, AB hasn't had a consistent role. And he's still very young (6 months older than KO).
