There have been rumblings that Kyrie wants out.  I don't know if Cleveland would do it and I know other players would have to be involved, but assuming the salary filler on both sides were of equal value and we could get fair value in a Rondo trade, would you trade the #1 pick for Kyrie?

No way.  PG need is already filled.

Address the wing with Wiggins or Parker.

That plus Rondo is better than Irving, as well.

Yup, I am a big Kyrie fan.

He can shoot and shoot well.

Plus this draft (in my estimation) is turning into the biggest crap shoot I've ever seen.

If Cleveland says yes, I would says yes even faster.

Yeah.  I love Kyrie, but unless we're flipping Rondo for a stud wing, it doesn't make a lot of sense.

Plus, having a couple extra years on a rookie scale contract is a big plus in terms of keeping the draftee.   Kyrie is about to max out, which really limits cap flexibility.

I'd definitely prefer Kyrie at this stage.

As would I.

What I would prefer even more is to play Irving at the 2-guard, and keep Rondo, which is obviously a pipe dream. Just because, after 3 years, I'm not convinced Irving is a point guard.

Based on the info we have in hand, the odds are against the 2014 top pick having a better career than Irving. That said, I'm in deep rebuilding mode and I would have to pay Irving in 2015... I might have to overpay him.

So, no. I'd rather have the rook that I don't have to pay until 2017.

That actually doesn't make any sense to me. The bar for having a career better than Irving's is pretty low (I put little emphasis on All-Star appearances after 2003, when they switched to fan voting).
