Every time I see Wisconsin play, this guy looks like he can play on the next level.  Yet, I've never seen him on any mock draft.

Why not?

I realize he's not a super athlete, but he's a very skilled and versatile seven footer.

Is this draft just that deep that there are sixty better prospects than Frank Kaminsky?

i was thinking the same thing the whole game.  I mean he looks more talented than anyone 6'10" or bigger on the C's.  They way he was hitting the outside jumper tonight was great.  I don't know if he was doing that the whole year though.  Any Wisconsin fans out there who know more about Frank?

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Disclaimer: I'm basing my post because I'm assuming you'd like us to draft Kaminsky. If my assumptions are wrong, please ignore this.

Dont we have our own Frank Kaminsky already?

He is indeed looking like a solid player, but I'm not going to wish to draft him due to having a similar player already.

Plays like KO. Less passing skills but a little more lift, wingspan. Looking impressive and might have jumped into the late 1st, early 2nd range

I like him better than KO, he moves better and much more nifty down low.  I see a little of Kevin McHale down low when he is down there.

I was making a general observation.  I couldn't agree with you more.  Kaminsky reminds me very much of our own Kelly Olynyk.  We have no need for him.

I just noticed that he doesn't appear on any mock draft boards, and I was wondering why.

I thought I would be the first to post on this subject, silly me!   ;)

Ainge's type of draft player....7 footer who can shoot inside and out, skilled (but not athletic) and wears #44, (is that a karmic hint?).  Needs to put on some muscle.  Another 7 ft. project in the vein of KO or Vitor.   Seems to be able to stay focused in big occasions.   Depends on if next year will be another developmental year, or if Danny decides to go for need and/or trade.  (At least he is a Jr. and has had some time to mature.)
Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is a mystery.

If we didn't have KO and Sully I'd say grab him with that 18-23 Brooklyn pick we will be getting.   Really we have other needs in this draft.

Rewatching some ncaa tourney games , one guy that really stood out for me was Kaminsky.

Deadly shooter, Skilled but also is a good shot blocker and not afraid of contact.  Could be a better rebounder and needs to put on 15 pounds of weight.

Kaminsky vs KO

- Kaminsky is 7'1 with about the same wingspan.   More length than KO
- Post skills - more skilled than KO. Al Jefferson like fakes/moves
- Kaminsky is a deadly shooter. KO is a good shooter
- Kaminsky is a much better shot blocker. Has more lift on his jump. Slightly better athlete

- KO has better passing skills
- KO is a better runner

KO is really a pf.  Kaminsky with 15-20 more pounds of weight could play C in the nba imo.

That is really not at all close to the truth.

If he is a 7'1" "deadly" shooter with Al Jefferson post moves and a decent rim protector why didn't hasn't any team picked him up?

He didnt declare and is staying for his final year in college. Not a bad idea as he still needs to put on 15 pounds of weight for the nba

Agreed, Kaminsky is the real deal. I was disappointed he didn't declare for the draft, I would have liked him  at 17 better than Young. I think he's been largely underrated due to his face... If he does what I expect him to next season, he'll be a mid-late lotto pick.
