I really debated hard about Al Horford.
But knowing the CB Draft's history of killing every injured players to the fullest, had to go in a different direction.
Tough though, Horford is everything you can ask for for a Center.
except short and he hates playing the position.
Didnt stop him from playing it great.
I understand the career numbers, but before he went down, he's primed for an All Star year. 18/8/1.5 blocks, 56% shooting. 22.16 PER and is just good on both ends.
The injury (now looks like recurring) is what scares me.
He was having a good year, but none of that strikes me as great. Horford is a good solid all around player, but he doesn't excel at anything. He isn't a #1 scorer, he isn't a great rebounder, he isn't a great passer. He is sort of like Jeff Green but because he is bigger and taller he can play center and is thus more valuable than a good solid, but not great at anything, SF.
But he's way more consistent than Green.
He is having a good year, maybe headed to a much better one actually if not for the injury.
His November numbers goes 17/8/2 assist/1 block 56% shooting.
He then got even better by December going 21/9/3 assist/1 block/59%! shooting. And he's taking 15 shots. He's ultra efficient and during that time, you can make an argument that he's a top 5 Center. For someone who's a not a number 1 option on scoring, he sure does score pretty efficiently and a lot by December.
Of course, it stopped when he tore his pec. But I disagree that he's just "solid". Well, not this year at least.
