How exactly do we know the standings? Are we using some outside site to track wins/losses?

Sorry, this is all new to me, but I'm excited.

Just to clarify cause I always get this wrong - is the "draft time" the DEADLINE to make your pick, or the start of your pick window?

It's the DEADLINE. celticpride07 is late as of right now. I have Merovich's list and will hold off until 10:30 to make his selection. If cp07 doesn't pick before then, I will likely autopick for him to preserve the league.

Autopick

celticpride07 selects the Miami Heat
Keepers: Lebron James, Chris Bosh

I don't like starting off this way, but if cp07 isn't going to be around all day and his pick is going to keep getting skipped, he (or some other GM) is going to be stuck with a crummy team.

celticpride07 has until the end of the day to post here, or I'll begin searching for a replacement.

Yeah, generally I'm against auto-picking but in a format like this you kind of have to.
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

Well, the third pick sucks cause you just miss out on LBJ and KD, but at least I can nab my hometown team that does not feature the purple and gold.

I like my pick spot even though I will get a lesser franchise. I like having a much better selection in the third round, fourth round, etc.  I think I should be able to get a pretty solid team that way.
That's what I'm looking forward to this year.  I've usually had a top pick for a team but had a lousy draft position at the end of each round and seeing each of my preferred players getting snatched up before I could pick.  I want to see how the other half lives this time around.  should be a good year to do it to with 10 full teams not having their best players already taken out of the mix

Lots of ways I could have gone with that 4th pick, but when there's an MVP candidate on the table, you gotta take him.

I dig it.

yup, pretty much.  no surprises there.

I think the next couple are pretty sure things but should get real interesting starting around the 10th team.

Well, everything went expected except for that little thing like the autopick being used on the very first pick of the draft.

That kind sucks.

No surprise coming on the 10th pick. I'll just take the best players available...team that is.
