Hmm philly gets better maybe?? good for us
This is nuts. Granger is cooked.

Exactly.

He's been a negative for them this season - shooting 36% from the field, 33% from 3. He's never been much of a defender. Hard to see how Philly gets better here. They lost 2 starters today for a bunch of scraps.

Their tank rolls on.
I admit have not watched him a lot after coming back. Eh the tank does roll on I guess

Lavoy Allen is a real nice piece too. Tough defender. Decent rebounder. Little bit of a short jump shot. Their big man depth is tremendous.

PF - David West, Luis Scola, Lavoy Allen
C - Roy Hibbert, Ian Mahinmi, Andrew Bynum

Wow that sucks for Granger.

Kind of sucks for Turner, too.

Why? Turner said he wanted to win. He may be backing up, but he'll at least get plenty of minutes on the bench. And if George needs some rest, Turner is a great back up imo.

Perfect for him, no stress, can win a ring, and he'll be in a good cultured environment to thrive and grow.

Indiana are going to win the Championship. Loaded.
I would say they are the top team out of east, step above miami.  They have the size and defend well at all positions with scary deep bench.

They are going to be able to absolutely pummel Miami down low, on both ends of the court.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 1m

Indiana has traded Danny Granger to the 76ers for Evan Turner and Lavoy Allen, league sources tell Yahoo.

Wow! Evan Turner as a 6th man could be huge for Indy. Lavoy Allen is pretty nice insurance big too. Pacers just getting more dangerous, Miami might be shaking a little.

I like Lavoy Allen as a bruiser whose job is to come off the bench and knock around Miami's stars a bit.  He's an example of what can be available in the late second round and an example of why you don't sign rookies to one-year deals without a team option.

I don't see how anyone could have watched Granger and Turner this season and think that Philly will improve with Granger on the roster in place of Turner.

Will he, though? He's gonna be behind Stevenson and George, and he's at his best when he's allowed to dominate the ball.

On the other hand, having Turner gives them some insurance against Stevenson walking.

Larry Bird sweetheart deal. What sense this makes for Philly I do not know. They just gave up assets for nothing... .

A second rounder is what they take away? ? Not even an obscure euro player to be named later or something? Great deal for Larry B. Go Pacers!

It doesn't, really, because Turner is a FA next year himself.

Cap relief + a pick in the low 50's... Yeah, that's a far cry from the 1st rounder they were allegedly asking for.

Isn't Turner RFA, Stephenson UFA?

It's possible there's more to it, but is there really any advantage for Philly here, other than hitting the salary floor?
