I like the deal for both teams. Cleveland have won 6 or 7 games in a row now, they had a guy who can help them without breaking up what they already have going and without taking on significant longterm salary.

For Philly,  they weren't bringing him back so they got a decent return.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Too bad we didn't strike first and give them Bass... for one 2nd...

Cleveland still imagines itself a free agent destination next summer, and wants to preserve it's cap room, so I don't think Bass ever was an option for Cleveland.  He's a better fit somewhere like Golden State, which doesn't have cap room next year anyway.

It's nice to live in dreamland for the Cavs I suppose. But yeah you're probably right, I just really hope we clear his contract off our books...

That, and the fact that Cleveland has a ton of PFs and very few centers.  Thompson, Bennett, Varajao are all best suited at the PF spot.  Hawes fills a major need.

They also have desperately needed more three point shooting, and that is something Hawes has become pretty proficient at.

Kings still shopping Jimmer Fredette, unable to find deal for him so far, league sources tell Yahoo. A 2014 second-round pick could get him.

can we get him? maybe he can get better under CBS and the C's culture. ;D

What salary is Cleveland going to send back? I'd be shocked if Philly took back salary commitments beyond this year.

Hawes and Turner could be had for far less than Young, who's a much better player than both and also doesn't have an expiring contract (so he could be locked up for a little while by whichever team acquires him).

I feel like Earl Clark and Alonzo Gee are going to be sent to Philly.

My guess is Earl Clark and Henry Sims.  Both non-guaranteed next year.

On a side note, even though we're on the road we're about to enter into a cupcake section of our schedule against the Lakers, Kings, Jazz, etc. We need to do everything in our power to give away Bass and Hump and stay true to this tank

Yeah, Clark and Gee to Philly makes sense. They both have fully unguaranteed deals for next season which makes them, like Bogans, a great chip on the draft day.

But Gee and Sims together don't add up enough.  It could be Clark and Gee, I suppose.  Philly's under the min salary, so what do they care?

Right. Clark and Sims works, but Gee would require sending Clark as well.

Looks like it's Clark and Sims.
