I would hate if they moved Green for expirings and a mid tier first rounder?

There's most value to be had.

Looking at that roster, there really is nothing realistic I want there if we're trading Green.

I wonder if they'd be willing to part with Horford, particularly if they're worried about his injury history and him being out for the season and all.

I don't think it's out of the real of possibility considering that currently have Millsap.

And with all that said, I wonder if I personally be willing to get Horford with his injury history... might be worth the gamble throughout our rebuilding process.

Not sure.

What kind of other filler would have to be involved on our end, though?  Draf picks? Another starter/rotation guy?

A lot to pay.
I was thinking of a way to get Horford as well.   Maybe Green with Bass and Fav for Horford, Carroll, the Nets/Atl pick.  trade works on the checker.

Can't see Atlanta doing this unless they really want to make a run this year (not that adding these guys puts them over the top by any means).  I could only see Atlanta doing this if they thing Horford's going to continue to have health issues and C's are willing to take that risk to add a #2 caliber player with Rondo.  C's would hope to get their #1 franchise player in this year's (and possibly next year's) draft.

Horford's my binky but have no realistic hopes of landing him until he hits free agency.

Brand (expiring), Mack (expiring), and Jenkins (SG prospect), plus a 1st.

Problem is the Celtics would have to cut two currently rostered players to get that done.

Would be nice for a third team to step in.

Get a prospect, Danny coveted combo guard (Not Williams in particular, just that he likes combo guards.) an expiring and move far away from the luxury tax.

Jenkins is out for the year with back problems... not much of a prospect

Atlanta isn't moving Horford. They want to get better, not blow up their team.

Hard to make the salaries work. A package of Carroll (2 years), Brand (exp.) and Schroder? This creates cap space for us, probably a prospect in Schroder but not much more. I doubt Atlanta adds a pick to it.

Hawks have a disabled trade exemption from the Horford injury for 5.25 mil, which would make it closer to working salary-wise. I still don't see the point unless we're getting some combination of Schroeder, Noguiera or picks.

The disable player exception doesn't help them if their target is Jeff Green for two reasons.

First, Green makes more than the exception and the exception can't be combined with a player to make up for the difference.

Secondly, the disabled player exception can only be used to sign a player for the remainder of the season or to trade for a player in the last year of their contract. They can't use it to acquire a player whose deal is not expiring.

Precisely why I mentioned him. Won't help the Hawks this year. Stash prospect for Ainge.

There's most value to be had.
Is there though? After Danny went public with the whole "People expect to much out of a role playing player like Jeff Green" and the multiple reports of Green being heavily shopped, maybe there isn't a lot more value to be gotten in a Jeff Green move.

Green for Brand, Shroeder, Mack, and they change the protections on the pick so the C's get the better of the Atlanta or Nets pick, not the worst.
